Looks like some hard cornering and tire flex will have that tire cut on the bolt there.

Shouldn't be an issue. The tire has no reason to flex up there, there's nothing pushing it, unlike at the contact patch where the friction with the pavement pushes it to one side or the other during cornering

I autocrossed the car with the set-up below with no issues
(285/40/18 Goodyear Eagle tires on SVT 18x9.5 wheels)

The wheels look awesome Gabe.

Haha that's cool Burton. I had my to daughters doing the same thing. We changed the oil in all three of our vehicles yesterday. Handing down the knowledge.

I got mine out of the garage finally - had to clear over a foot of snow first. Then loaded it on the trailer to take it to MRT in Plymouth, MI. Replacing the engine, took out 2 piston ring lands (one on each bank) on the first WOT test last year with the turbo. So new engine and start tuning all over again, with a different tuner this time.

Changed her oil AND washed her. Both firsts of the year. Used my new Mr. Pink soap from Chem Guys. Love it. Then dried with Chem Guys Speed Wipe.

Lol Burton ... you saw my previous 285-wide front set-up and how close THEY were to that stud and the strut body, and it had NO rubbing ...

Smile Changing of the Guard

Took both steeds out for feed and wash. Put La Bestia into the stall and onto a battery tender. Traga Gasolina is now in the alert 5 position. I will switch them in a few weeks.

You're a brave man. I'd be worried that some way, some how, they'd somehow twist and flex and make contact. However unlikely that is, especially if you've done AutoX with a similar setup.

But if you want a little more clearance, I don't see why you can't grind down that endlink stud a little bit. It looks like you have the newer style of endlink with the hex holding flange built into the stud near the socket (so no worries about having to use a holding wrench on the end of the stud.

Speaking of wheels, I finally gave in to Plasti Dip. Got all 4 wheels done, but still too cold out to mount these (summer tires).

BTW--if anyone tells you that you don't have to mask off the sidewall because it peels off...make them clean it up. That's the last time I'll do that.

I still might do that, but just wanted to say that I've already had less clearance with no issues.
Anyway, tomorrow these rims are coming back off until the end of the month when the car's going into the World Of Wheels car show in Boston.
When the car comes home it will finally get driven on these wheels.
Until then, it will just be a stationary display with them on for 3 days

I painted the steel rims on a car once. I "masked" the tires off with Vaseline. Wiped right off after the paint dried. I had to clean the tires after the first run after the residual streaked out.
