So what gives here? This place generally goes all out to shame, shun, and shut down any mention of street racing. Several mods seem to be on the verge of a conniption fit when someone mentions it or God forbid posts a vid (that will be deleted immediately, along with the thread).

So I was a bit perplexed when I looked at the home page (something I rarely do) and I see this headline...

GT500 and ZL1 slug it out in street race

https://themustangsource.com/gt500-a...eet-race-5214/

Along with a video of said event.

Did I miss something? Has something changed that I'm not aware of?

It's not easy but I do enjoy it...one of the hardest things is not having time to work on your own stuff.

It's still sitting out back....I've got both a 6.0 and 5.3 LS sitting here...not sure which I will use but it will be turbocharged.

Without street racing the mustang would cease to exist. Along with all the other American muscle cars. It's dangerous, against the law, and I guess stupid. But it's necessary.

I'm sure you have just a little time to sneak in a few projects of your own so the boss doesn't find out.
I'm still thinking I would like to build a midsized GM car. Malibu, tempest, riveria. LS swap cruiser. The Nova is great but there's certain parts of the nova bodies I just don't like with each year. And a Ford would be nice but there's only a few motors worth swapping into them and it will just cost too much money and trouble.

The ONLY Nova I like is the 66-67....they suck for rear tire fitment on a stock body but I've already got the floor cut out so that problem will be fixed...

I dig the rear of the 65 and the front of the 67. No single year nova seemed just right. But I'm sure that's no big obstacle for what you're doing over there. I saw three of these rivieras on the coast and for some reason I'm really digging these bodies.
