That's more than I thought you had. I'm about to turn over 69k. Which I guess isn't too bad for a little more than 6 years and a daily driver

So how many sets have you gone through?

I think I have about 10k left at most. One of the two lane twisties I love to push on is chip seal and I think that has worn them down quicker than other types of pavement would have.

I noticed yesterday that mine had just turned over 6500, coming up on 3 years in March. I wonder if I'll get 12K miles out of these tires, fronts maybe, doubt it on the rears.

This will be the third set on her. I will have to check my records but I think I got rid of the KDWS at about 36k and went with the Michelin's.

I know the KDWS aren't the stickiest for summer but yet they do handle well. And these mountain passes can have icy spots pretty much any morning of the summer so I like the all season aspect.
I'm sure Michelin probably makes something similar but like Dennis' comment, its an unknown until you buy them.

I like Michelins, its all I've used on multiple Explorers for many years. LTX M/S (they're LTX M/S2 now) and have gotten at least 90K miles out of every set I've had.

Yeah myself and others have always gotten a lot of miles out of a set. But wouldn't those be kind of lousy for handling?

I was just talking about having a favorable opinion of Michelin tires in general because of the service I've gotten out of the truck tires, not putting those on a Mustang, lol. Never had a set of Michelin tires on a performance car. All the ol' lady's Hondas have come with Michelin tires and they've always lasted until she wanted a new one. Never have put a set of tires on one of the Accords she's had, but she usually get a new one between 50-60K.

I'm in a bit of a pickle with wheels/tires. I have 20" wheels that I will keep and use for driving around town, and when the 888's wear out on them I'll replace them with something more economical and responsible.

I am, however, going to get myself a set of 18" wheels that I can use when tracking or racing. May seem odd to some, but the variety of performance/competition tires offered in 18" diameter is far, far more than the variety offered in 20". Now I just need to find myself a good set of racing wheels that DON'T cost $3k per wheel.
