I don't like driving them. Just uncomfortable to me. And their gas truck motors are just less than desirable unless its a SVT truck.

Personally if I were Al I'd sell the Cobra. He's stated enough times here how he just doesn't drive it enough or have the ability to and wants a project car.

And I completely understand the Chevy truck over the Ford. The 5.4 with its spark plugs and heads is annoying when getting a used one. It sucks gas and doesn't really offer much hp. Being a Chevy tech and dealing with pushrods is much easier I'd bet.

I'm not saying it to be rude. I'm just saying what he's already said.

Now I would take the time and pick up a Fox or something like a late 60s Chevy I reckon is what he wants.

Lots of possibilities with the Fox though. And it won't e a heavy pig like the other one Al.

Well then I'm sure he will make the right choice for him. The best idea would be to test drive the trucks he is interested in, obviously. Personally, I don't think I could force myself to buy anything from a company who recently went bankrupt. Mainly due to the fact that they had to cut more corners in order to make more profit. I drove a new 5.0 f150, and it felt extremely roomy. It was also a torque monster.

Hey I would still love another notch. Just not sure if I want another hot rod or a really laid back cruiser this time. Maybe one day ill build a shop big enough to have both. If I come across another notch for the right price, I might just pick it up and hang on to it for later though. Got some family property I can store it at just not covered storage.

Well after 10 years of being a GM tech, the GM trucks are like second nature to me. Probably why I am more comfortable in them and trust them more. We drive stripped down F150s here at work and they just suck. The couple Chevy work trucks here are much better. We have a few older rangers here that are unstoppable though. Little tanks. Can't kill them.

They only thing that has me hesitant is this cobra is an amazing ride. Not many other cars are quite as thrilling as driving a 600hp terminator. The couple times I do drive it each month that is. And the ability to smoke just about any vehicle that pulls next to me on the highway is pretty cool too. Not that I would race on the highway.

I was a shop foreman at a Chrysler dealership for about a year. I would never buy a Chrysler product. My God they're crap.

I know we've been round and round before but driving the crap out of them at your little plant is nothing compared to F150's F250's & F350 crummies being driven to hell and back throughout the NW forest dirt roads by Weyerhaeuser union boys that didn't give a crap. The Chev's were short term because they break down after being beaten in the woods. The Weyco fleet wound up being 90% Fords. I've seen them myself in the yard and my buddy also ran the truck shop.
My coffee company ran a fleet across 13 states with 500 employees. Though they weren't driven off road, route guys could afford ZERO down time. They tried some Chev's, they tried some Isuzu's. Their fleet stayed 95%+ plus Ford vans, cube trucks, super duty's. But the managers got K cars in the 80's
Over half a million miles myself on Ford trucks and never stranded.
Whereas my history with GM is a fail. '68 442 blew up in 6 mos, my Jimmy stock truck isn't running.

There's a difference now though. The older F150s were bullet proof. The old FI 302 and 351 couldn't be stopped. The chevy 350 was just mediocre at best. Then came the Ford ohc 4.6L, and Chevy introduced the LS platform motors. Simplistic in design and bullet proof. Sorry Charlie but that OHC Ford motor shouldn't be in a pickup. I still believe that a truck motor should have pushrods. Lol

Why? Valves open, valves close. Chain runs the cam regardless where it's located.
