Watching it right now and there are HUGE swaths of empty seats in the stands, and that even after they've dropped ticket prices significantly.
I've been watching race after race that has tons of empty seats. And not just Nascar, but these last two races at COTA were empty too.

Whereas did you see how packed Gator Nats were yesterday?

And Sebring had bunches of people.
Man what a rough track! No banking whatsoever. Its really like street racing.
Great to see the Viper V10 on the track again! Sick of corvettes.

I missed qualifying yesterday, but I've noticed that even NHRA stands have been emptier than they used to be. Still think the economy has a lot to do with it, despite what the media keeps saying about it.

I agree its tight money.

But also nascar continues to decline. Too many stop/starts (wrecks) and rigged finishes IMO.

its definitely an economy based problem, people don't have the disposable income that they used to to spend $400 on tickets, and another 4-500 for travel and hotel expenses.

Yeah, they need to make some tweaks in Pro Stock. I don't really enjoy watching pro stock on tv, but in person its fantastic.

Went back to the auto show today. Was looking at future cars for my mom with my dad and he said he liked the Explorer Sport the best. The Chevy's were too small and he didn't like how low he felt sitting in them. It's really up to my mom in the end though.

We go to Maple Grove every year. I wish they would stop changing the date for that race. It's been anytime between August and October. Last year they changed the date after they originally set it which can be a hassle with loging arrangements.

Off to the pub for green beer, corned beef, traditional Irish Soda bread (made by an authentic Mulligan), and more!
