All this recent rain made my Crepe Myrtles finally bloom.
I was afraid they weren't going to after it stayed so hot and so dry for such a long spell.

I really like to do leg quarters. Probably my favorite as far as chicken, the breasts are ok, but its too easy to get them dried out. I prefer the dark meat.
Don't have much of an appetite right now, so I'm going to throw a couple of Conecuh dogs on the grill to hold me over while I get my drink on. Probably end up making a T-bone later tonight.

I agree about the thighs though. Best piece of the chicken overall (when you consider the flavor, juiciness, and the amount to meat there. But I've loved chicken legs since I was little, so the quarters are a bonus.

A Man Just Needs Some....
So the big fat guy on my shift insisted on cooking tonight. How do you tell a 400lbs man that he can't friggen cook? He's definitely no stranger to food! I guess I'm gonna have to be the ahole and hurt his feelings.

Ended up looking pretty good though...
I was so wore out from mowing, trimming, edging, and cleaning that money pit that I didn't even feel like getting in it when I got finished. Maybe after while when I get tanked up.
