Only thing I could think was maybe each pulse I was feeling was actually a series of many brake applications very quickly and not just one quick clamp down on the rotor and release. I thought that maybe if it was many quick grabs that seemed to be one pulse maybe the pad was chattering and causing the vibration.
I'm don't have very much experience with this stuff, I'm just speculating based on the limited knowledge I have about how the system works combined with some knowledge of older cars without these systems.

That's what I am thinking. I had a similar feeling on my Infinity...when I first got it I had no idea about anything regarding the car and I hit an off ramp at speed and the system started applying the LF brake and it had a similar feel. Really shocking when you don't know the car is equipped with that feature....I've since turned it off since I apparently have a bigger pair than the on board computer does
But yours was definitely not a normal occurance...
