Well, it creates drag, so you'll be losing mpg.

I don't know if you've looked at hyundai yet, but they seem to be pretty well priced and good cars. I've have a buddy who's a mechanic at a local dealership and he's says the new ones are pretty good.

Go look at Hyundai. I have never been a fan of Kia and IMHO the Hyundais look better.

Both of them are getting a lot better in quality but they won't beat Honda quality.

I had an '89 Accord that other than the timing belt at 121k, no other problems. Traded it with 175k miles on it and still had the original clutch

in 2 and a half years i have replaced: timing belt, exhaust, passanger side door where i was hit, front bumper (2 weeks after getting fixed it was hit again), probably a few more things that i cant remember off the top of my head. next will have to be brakes i think...
if i had the driveway and bought the right tools since you need a more specific one for the Honda i would do it myself...

pretty good video

Ok. The majority of Hondas are good cars.

oh and to add to the list, my transmission may be slipping

RPMs go up, speed goes down....it is an automatic and feels as if it wont fall into the right gear

anyone ever use Lucas Slip Stop? or heard of it?

Can't really blame Honda for dents and scratches or needing brakes

Heard of it. Worth a try. Have you had the fluid & filter changed recently? Or do you expect it to keep going forever without maintenance?

thats where the problem comes in, when it is time for my car to be serviced my mom or dad usually take into the Honda dealership, i have had this issue for over 2 years, and it usually happens when accelerating or going up a hill and maintaining speed...

Sounds like slippage. Sometimes they can tighten the 'bands'. Sometimes an additive will help - but is only a temp fix.
But have they had the trans fluid & trans filter changed by the dealer ever?

Does that auto have an overdrive? Do you take it out of overdrive when climbing a grade? That helps avoid slippage too.

if an additive is a temporary fix then what would be the best fix for it? i am guessing a new transmission? ...i am not sure about the fluid/filter change but when i had someone look at the filter and check the fluid it all looked fine to them

i do not think my car has overdrive, then again i have no idea, how can i tell if it is or isnt?

Does your stick show 1,2,3,O? Or 1,2,D? Got a manual?

I wouldn't want to replace a trans so close to 100k. Prob $1500 easy into a not so valuable car.
They may have looked at the fluid on the trans dipstick but the only way to see the filter is by dropping the transmission pan.
