to be honest Sean, the best thing you can do is read up on it. The terms of these can get very confusing if you dont know what you're reading.
As with anything retirement oriented, the earlier you can get started the better.
As for who to go with, as a tax preparer, I dont seem to see any real favorite between the 3, they seem to be evenly spread out.

I would rather track how the options that each company react for the next year considering how the economy may be getting better, but we will see how it reacts to $5 a gallon gas effects it, with Obama publicly backing Israel anything they do towards Iran could draw us in a conflict, with Republicans saying that we need to intervene in Syria and prevent any more bloodshed it seems to be a very volatile time and it would be interesting to see how everything reacts during this so I could get a better understanding of the options they offer.
I am going to go back to school for accounting or bookkeeping I believe there are to little opportunites for police. They are there but few and far between from what I have seen. Not a lot on usajobs or policeemployment.com either.
Sounds to me like you're talking about 'Life Strategy' or 'Target Retirement' type funds where they automatically adjust the asset allocation according to your age bracket. Or you choose one that matches your age bracket and risk tolerance.
I love VG. I don't use those automatic funds as I'm more proactive, but asset allocation according to age is a pretty successful strategy over time. Still a roller coaster, no guarantees. Gotta be long term, invest regular, and let it compound.
And is this an employer type plan (401k/403b) where you contribute monthly and don't have to meet VG's 3k minimum?
VG's stuff about low fees is true. It adds up. Great list of index funds. I use their ETF's thru a brokerage account where many of their funds are commish free.
For T Rowe Price I have seen the different options that they offer I believe on this page:
http://individual.troweprice.com/pub...Funds/RDF-2055
But i haven't been able to find anything on the vanguard site or even a prospectus for them, I did find their asset allocation though but not on which options to go with if that makes sense.
For the $3,000 minimum is that per month? It can't be can it since I thought the most you can contribute for me would be $5,000 a year. It would be funded by me.
Can you explain what the ETF and a brokerage account is? I have liked Vanguard the best out of the 3 with T Rowe Price a close second so the sooner I get this started the more money I will have to retire. Not that having around $1,000,000 for retirement isn't a lot but who knows what it will bring in the future with inflation and the cost of living.
Speaking of nice days I will be heading to the dam shortly gonna meet up with some apparently she has something for me or something to tell me or something something something me idk Im confused now lol
