So, funny thing over the weekend. After all this talk about chicken and dumplings around here a few days ago, on Saturday the hb asked me to make that for dinner yesterday. In all the years we've been together, he's never attempted to make them (and we all know he usually wears the apron.....don't tell him I said that!) and he's never asked me to make them. I've never made it before. Turned out pretty good for my first time. Next time will be better

Animals are all acting up. Two of them took off outside, but we were able to catch them. Wondering if somethings gonna happen.

I hope not Nathan. The news around here did report that the elephants at the zoo got together and locked trunks not long before the earthquake. I know we've had enough excitement around here in the last week. An earthquake and a hurricane all in one week is more than enough.

It's relatively common for people to develop an allergy to stings later in life and it can happen at any time. Something about the more you get stung, the more likely it can be to develop an allergy. Happened to my sister-in-law. I'm sure you can google it and do some more research. That's why I said you need to treat it internally. Nothing topical is going to help you.
First, if stung on the hand, remove any rings from your fingers immediately.
If stung by a bee, the bee usually leaves a sac of venom and a stinger in your skin. Remove the stinger within 30 seconds to avoid receiving more venom. Gently scrape the sac and stinger out with a fingernail or a stiff-edged object like a credit card. Do not squeeze the sac or pull on the stinger -- this will cause the release of more venom into the skin.
The severity of an insect sting reaction varies from person to person. There are three types of reactions -- normal, localized, and allergic:

The severity of an insect sting reaction varies from person to person. There are three types of reactions -- normal, localized, and allergic:
- A normal reaction will result in pain, swelling, and redness around the sting site.
- A large local reaction will result in swelling that extends beyond the sting site. For example, a person stung on the ankle may have swelling of the entire leg. While it often looks alarming, it is generally no more serious than a normal reaction.
- The most serious reaction to an insect sting is an allergic one (described below). This condition requires immediate medical attention.

I think thats what I did a few weeks back. Couple months ago I got stung 3 times on the hand, just glancing pops. Barely swelled, only hurt for a few hours. Few weeks ago, I had one hit me right above my knee on the back of my thigh (that real tender spot). I think i swatted at him and made it worse, but my leg swole in that area about the size of a grapefruit in diameter.
