All caught up, 6 pages later and I didn't miss a thing. We're like a soap opera, you can miss 6 months of the show and not really miss anything. Even the guy they killed off the show is back alive and dating his ex wifes sister...

My father and his best friend bought me a welder yesterday. 
His friends neighbor was selling it and it's a Lincoln about a year old. Nothing big but just right to learn on. My dad called me and said it was for sale and I could get it for less than half of a new one and I said I'd pass because I'm too busy to think about these things. So the two of them decided it was too good to pass up and surprised me with it.
The best part is my dads friend is like a master welder that's been welding for 50 years. He said that he would start teaching me after we move in.

There was another one a few days back posted by someone like soflostang or something. It was up for a few hours. Again I couldn't do anything about it. So i said "f*ck it" and let the mods worry about it. Not my problem.

Is it a MIG? Does it use a shielding gas (argon maybe)?

My dads friend was telling me back when he was 15 he made his own welder. He's like the Mozart of welding. Kind of like a prodigy. He really should be a teacher.

I was out yesterday running some errands, and something for sale caught my eye. '85 Capri RS. It looks original, and from the road seems to be in decent shape. Thinking about taking a look at it.
