I've had feral cats, raccoons, opossums, squirrels, etc. live under that same building over the years, but never a groundhog, lol. He's been the most entertaining by far. A real show off.
This guy didn't stay very long at all, he got freaked out, and I got pissed when he started getting in the trash. We clashed to say the least, lol.

We had a groundhog that lived under an old trailer full of wood at our old house. Don't really see any around here though.

They're pretty rare in this area. In general, its too far southeast for them. They are much more common in the mid west and up into your area. He seems content and happy, and the little guy loves him. But he also loves the rabbits, deer, etc. They come to him like hes one of their own.
These are the ones that scare me with him making friends with animals....

I'm about ready to go ape **** until they ban me. One change after another, I don't need this ****ing ****. I try to be a good guy, but *******, everything keeps changing. I'm getting too old for this ****. I guess its a site for the young'uns. Well that's fine, I enjoy their company too, but I don't need this constant shifting of format.

Had to get Kelly's 3 yr rabies last week. Good thing - she kills a bunch of voles and even moles. Not so good at catching chipmunks though I'd like to get rid of some - they are destructive and I'm overrun with them. Last week Kelly had a chipmunk cornered under some boards. They make sort of high pitched warning call/chirps that imitates a rattler sort of. This sounded about like I'm used to hearing when she has one cornered. So I moved the board to help without looking - and it was a dang groundhog!! Big sucker!! Kelly is so fierce but this thing had some fight in it. I looked but I didn't see where she got any bites. Good thing because those front teeth are like fangs!! I felt bad afterward... I wouldn't have let her go for it if I had known it was a ground hog. I don't think they do any damage like the chipmunks. So I said a prayer asking forgiveness and when I came back out a few hours later to bury it, it was GONE!! Guess it went to....

But I smelled "dead' over the next few days and even the Ravens were circling and cackling - at 5 in the morning with the windows open! grrrr!!
