Our parents were archaic. I can't imagine doing something like that. I've spanked with my hand after many warnings, and even then with these girls I could just tap them and send them into tears for hours. I can't imagine actually trying to injure. Which is what it seems like my parents were doing.
My mother never spanked us that was my fathers job, and he always used is trusty old hand, I guess cuz he always had it with him. I have to say though, it was a very rare occurrence he had to use it.

So here we go again with the center caps. IDK what to do, I bought Ford GT center caps to try too. I love how they look and the finish is really a close match to the GT500 wheel. However they are too shallow and recess into the rim once installed as opposed to sitting even with the face of the rim. I'mo not sure if this bothers me or not.

So again I ask for your thoughts. Sorry to beat a dead horse...

Stock GT500 center cap:

Pony Tri-bar center cap:

Ford Racing center cap:

Ford GT center cap:

This is a picture that better shows the way the GT center cap sits and how it is recessed. The funny thing is that the GT center caps are domed and the center of the dome is flush with the face of the wheel

I'd use one of each.

Or the pony tri-bar.

I like the Ford GT like you do Jim, but it ain't right like that.

Like the others said. The tri-bar would be my next choice.

So I really like the GT center caps but them being recessed will never work for me, it's just not right.

So I got thinking and here is what I came up with.

The GT center cap is just a tin domed cover over a plastic base held on with 8 little metal tabs.

So I bent up each tab and took the domed cover off, this is what I found under it.

A little cheap for a 100k+ supercar don't you think?

Anyway I then took a stock SVT cap that sits flush in the wheel, went to the bench grinder and ground down the edge with a slight bevel until the GT cap would slide right over it.

Once I did that I took a small screw driver and a pick and bent each tab back over the lip of the plastic SVT cap.

Now I have a correct thickness Ford GT cap. I just have to keep my fingers crossed that tomorrow when I get home it fits and is flush with the wheel face. If it is I have found a solution to my problems.

It will just have cost me $110 for the GT center caps plus the distruction of my SVT caps.

so I had my initiation into Beta Gamma Sigma tonight, national business honor society

talked a bit more to the dean of the business school and some of my other professors. I learned about this pretty cool opportunity to represent the school at a business competition next year. hopefully I'll be able to do it.

I'd love to contribute to making a name for my school

Good job Jim! As a Member of the MOTM Nominating Committee I approve this mod.

Sounds like a regular 'nerd herd'.

Are you sure it wasn't the Tri-Lams?
