The dealer should provide you with the info you need. If every dealer gave out a rep's number they couldn't do their job, which is to service the dealers. If your dealer can't answer your question THEY should contact THEIR rep.

that makes sense, basically it could potentially overload the rep and slow things down and annoy the crap out of them? or am I way off base?

I didn't realize this is a touchy subject.

Basically that's it.

Just like any organization has a chain of command, zone reps have their own set of responsibilities, mainly to service the dealer. If the dealer or customer service feels the need to involve the zone rep they will.

You hit the nail on the head! As a DSM in a similar industry dealers are not to provide end consumers with my contact information. I will address needs or concerns through my dealer contacts. In the event end consumers do contact me, Corprate guidelines state I redirect consumers back to the dealer network.

Heck its killing me I want to contact my Zone Manager so bad to discuss the progress of my car, and I have his contact information but won't out of professional courtesy.
