Question for you dealers out there...

I don't expect someone to jump on this and say "yes, of course we can" by any means, but it also can't ever hurt to at least ask.

I got a 3rd quarter allocation Boss. My biggest problem with that is if it happens to be a late 3rd quarter, it has tendency to snow shortly there after here around Chicago. What are the chances of finding a dealer somewhere..probably somewhere in the south..who would be willing to switch a 2nd quarter allocation with my 3rd quarter allocation? And better yet would something like that even be possible? Just trying my luck is all.

Thanks for any input to this issue one way or another.

Why don't you try to find a dealer south and try to arrange it yourself?

Even IF you can find a pair of dealers willing to trade (unlikely but possible) they're probably not going to do it for free. You're already paying a premium for a Boss, why pay more?

If I were you I would try to find a backwater dealership with a Boss allocation.

I've already got a deposit down on the Boss here at a local dealer. Calling around to a bunch of dealers out of my region didn't really appeal to me in the first place. It's not so big of a deal that I HAVE to get it done. If I get it 3rd quarter, such is life. Mostly it was just a question of "would it even be possible".

Good luck with it. There's a chance, but slim. A lot of cards have to fall in just the right order. Have you talked to your dealer about it if they're even open to the idea?

I figured as much..which is why I'm by no means banking on finding anything of the sort. And yes, that's the first question that I asked. Because way back when they didn't know anything...not that they even know too much currently...but the internet relations person had told me it was 2nd quarter, but it ended up being 3rd quarter(which the manager verified for me). So my first question to him when he said it was 3rd quarter was if there were options to get a 2nd quarter allocation somehow flipped with his 3rd quarter one. He said he'd check on it.

But I know more about the Boss than the dealership does based on the info I have received here from you guys, so I'm not counting on him finding much. He showed me the order guide that he just got and I said "yeah, I have already seen it" and he didn't know what to say to me

That's not uncommon, while not an "unpopular" car a Mustang is not a bread and butter vehicle, so some salesmen are a little slow on the uptake.
