Your BOSS moment of the day
While in Orlando today I was at a stop light and a V6 Mustang pulls up along side of me with "Boss 4.0" on the side. There was a couple of guys...college age kids in the car. They honked at me and I rolled my window down.... I was asked if it was a V6 with stripe package because it has a V6 badge on the trunk. I rev'd the car and the look on the kids face was priceless as he told me "I ain't never heard a V6 that sounds like that". He gave me thumbs up and when the light turned green I rumbled off.....
^^ Very nice!
We've got a couple S197's with stripe packages on base here, and about once a week or so, one of my female coworkers (who doesn't know a Mustang from a Taurus) will come in and tell me she saw another BOSS on base. This is a small town, and up until last weekend I had the only BOSS in a 19 country area, and they know I know it. They just like to see my reaction when they tell me there's another one in town. I get a little animated...

A couple nights ago I went to meet up with a friend in suburbia. He lives on a quiet looped crescent with about 40 houses or so. There were a number of people and families outside going about their usual business. When I turned onto the street, _everyone_ stopped to watch me drive by. I'm not used to that kind of attention.
Day one (Thursday) with the LS around mile 25 on the car and I get pulled over for speeding (small Texas town
). I stop and get my paper work ready and the officer asks if I know why I was pulled over. I politely said no; he then told me I was speeding 64 in a 60. I apologized and communicated I just picked it up at that point he said "New Mustang I have been wanting to see one of these Bosses" (add you own southern draw).
After about a 20 minute "Show-n-Tell" he said thanks for stopping and have a nice day, try not to speed too much!
Oh yeah day two with the car and can't stop
, 1031 miles already and headed to the Gap in the morning.

OMG just got back from a Shelby Club run to Denbeste Motorsports
First met up with 9 other late models and I knew I was in for a treat when I had the 2nd lowest HP.
Then we drove as a posse up the hour or so drive to Windsor in the Napa wine country area. Other than some traffic north of SF we had a really good pace. The cars at Denbeste were outta sight. I'll start a new thread for today's trip, it was awesome. Here's a teaser pic or two.

If anyone's interested in a vid of some vintage American Muscle kicking the crap out of some of Europe's finest, click on this. I never get sick of this one.
Funny comments too. "That guy right there needs a wallet that says bad mother @#$%^& on it."

Picked up the Boss yesterday, and these happened on the way home (700+ mile road trip).
10 year old boy tells his mom as he walks past the Boss at a gas station, “wow man, awesome looking car”
55 year old gentleman walking by in a parking lot says “that car looks fast sitting still”. Yep, so true.
At 510 miles on odometer (I’ve got Boss #510), catch up to a slow car on 2 lane highway, and drop to 4th gear, add a healthy amount of throttle, and have a huge grin on my face as the Boss rapidly accelerates from 50 to 75 mph.

Went to a car show this Saturday. There were 364 cars at the show. Picked up a trophy for being in the top 100. Of what I'm not sure. Anyway.......before the trophies were handed out. I had went to get some food and listen to the band for a while. When I returned my wife said that a photographer came up to her and asked if he could take some pictures with a Coors Light Girl around my car. Well by the time I returned to my car they were gone. My wife said I knew you would not mind all the smuges. After that it was time to hand out the trophies. I picked one up and had a picture taken with about 5 healthy Coors Light Girls with me being in the middle of it all. After the picture taking, my wife just stared at me, and I then replied to her that now the smuges were OK to be there on my car. We both laughed and she was happy for me in winning a small trophy.
Will post pictures if I can hunt them down. I've e-mailed the promoters of the show to see if pictures are available. I never expected to win a trophy. There were alot of Big Dollar Cars at the show. I wonder if it was because I was the only Boss 302(new or old) present. There was a S-load of GT's with so much chrome.

Bringing the thread back...
This weekend, our local Ford dealer hosted the Ford Drive One 4 Ur School event.

(Interesting they would use "4 UR" in an event surrounding schools... anyways, neither here nor there)
For everyone that came out and test drove a vehicle, Ford would donate $20 to the school. I guess they had anywhere from 8-12 vehicles out there in the school parking lot, with a booth set up to fill out questionaires and wait to get into a vehicle with a salesperson. The high school's band was out providing live music. Pretty cool gig.
Anyways, though there were Fiestas and Edges and Focii and F-150's, there were no Mustangs. Apparently, Ford corporate foresaw the huge potential for liability issues turning the keys over to a brand new Mustang. Not a bad idea considering a fair portion of the test drivees were students from said high school.
Anyways, I hung around chatting it up with some of my dealer friends, looking the part in my brand new Ford Racing polo shirt I purchased at last weekend's NASCAR race in Ft Worth. I'd heard a fair number of griping from the crowd that no Mustang was available. I had up to that point been conveniently parked in the back corner of the lot, hidden by the band truck & trailer rig. On my way out, I made it a point to slowly cruise right by the booth area, windows open, radio off, just to see if I could hear anyone saying anything about the BOSS. I was not dissapointed. Neither were the folks in the crowd from what I could make out.
So naturally, when I got on the main drag in front of the school, I laid it on pretty thick and hammered through the first 2 gears for the kiddos. Great fun!

I just got my 13 SBY Boss Thursday afternoon. On Saturday, I went to the store (its funny how you remember things you need and decide to go right away to get them
) and on the way home I was making a lane change. I had my blinker on and a guy in a 2010 silver Dodge Mini van let me in. After I get in front of him, he immediately gets into the lane I just came from and hits the gas hard to catch up along side of me so he could eye the car and tell the kids in the van to look. FUN!

I really don't have many stories yet, had it for a week and half and only put 200 miles on it so far. However on the 80 miles drive home I was so paranoid because people kept swerving either while driving past me, or from the oncoming lane into mine...That was scary, but neat. On the same drive two guys in their mid 20's in a new-ish GTO pulled up and gave me thumbs up. Fun stuff, hopefully more to come once I drive her.
After I got my Boss last summer I was driving on the highway when a guy in a new turbo lancer pulled up beside me and was hitting the gas and letting off. I controlled myself until an m3 come driving by and he took off after him, then I thought for a sec or two and said what the hay. I dropped it in to 4th and matted the pedel to see what it would do. I was on that lancer in know time and the drop jaw expression on his face was priceless. I didn't persue the m3 because I like my licence so I backed off. A couple of days latter I took my car in for it's state inspection ( bought in MD, reg in PA ). The guy at the inspection station said " Didn't I race you on the highway? " I said no, not really. He said he was blown away by how fast my car was intimidated enough by it's power to not want to test drive it after he inspected it. Made a hell of an impression. That makes me grin every time I think about it.
I have a few interesting stories. I have a C/O Boss and it is #167. My first experience was dropping down into the cut off lane after passing a mom and daughter in their car. They followed me down the exit and while I was waiting with my blinker on to make a left the daughter and mom were pointing at the rear of my car. Then out came the phone and I am not sure if they were taking video or pics but it was about the sequential tali lights(my guess anyway)
I was cruising the car another day and a mini van pulled into a lot where I had parked to use my cel phone. The van was quite a distance away. Well a youngster of about 14 gets out and walks all the way over to me and my car. I put the window down and he says "can I take pictures of your car?" My guess is he was about 14 years old. I get out of the car and say "sure fill your boots
" He takes his cel phone and starts taking pics from all angles. Then while he is stoked getting pics he explains to me about all the muscle cars he has taken pics of. He even shown some to me on his phone. Old Chevelles, Challengers, Corvettes and older Mustangs. I was pleased to learn that some of the younger generation are still into Muscle cars and not the imports if you know what I mean.
Here is the crazy storey. I was out late enjoying a drive in the BOSS. I had remembered I needed to get milk. I stopped at a 24 hour gas/convience store and go get milk. On my way out there are 3 people about 21 to 24 years of age. I get the typical questions about the car and this young girl comes out of the store. She spies my car and says " WOW, nice F*&%#ing car!" I just smiled and said "thanks" Well she starts asking for a drive in it. I am thinking should I and shouldn't I?? LOL She is 21 and very cute and to top it off a killer little body. Well before I know it she kicks her boots off in the parking lot and says I won't get your car dirty. Just take me for a drive. Before I could answer she is opening the door and climbing in. I just laughed and took her for a rip in the BOSS.
She looked at me when we returned and said that thing is like a Carnival ride. Its just BAD!!
My thoughts driving home........................"Why couldn't I have had this car when I was 21?" LMAO
