A lot of dealers don't know or care about performance cars - they're just happy to get an allocation for a performance car that gives 'em a nice profit for almost no work.

That car if advertised properly could have easily went for 25-50k over MSRP.
Dealer doesn't translate to expert. Half the time it means idiot salesperson trying to get as much of your money as possible.

It's called being opportunistic. A lot of money has been made this way.

I would go that far, there are some bad people out there dealing and some of the greed really bothers me but my dealer, with one exception, treated me well. The guys (minus one) never tried to lie and knew I had more info they they did about the Boss however they know more about all the other cars combined then I do. I have no idea what options you can get on a Focus or Transit Connect.

What I mean by experts is " it's their profession " they should know. When we as the public know more about the car then they do, something is wrong with that. Just seems like they should know more then they do.

I think that is a bit unrealistic as it pertains to the Boss, when most dealers will get Zero Boss' and the rest One unit. Frankly, the sales people need to be knowledgeable about the products that they will be earning their living with, not some speciality One-Off they probably won't even get a chance to sell. I'm a life-long sales person. If I have a product I never sell, I won't know much about it. The stuff I make lots of money selling, I know backwards and forwards! I am delighted to educate each and every Ford Sales person I meet about every little detail about the Boss. The Worst is the Young Sales Guy I met in Kalamazoo, MI. He told me he could get me a Boss because they were the biggest/Baddest dealer in the area and all other dealerships WANTED to trade vehicles with him! That's the Sales crap that is hard to swallow

Bossdog, you make slot if good points. The thing I don't get is that no one at the dealership knew they had the FIRST boss built, that is totally unexeptable

Look at it this way, it is better then some guy at another dealer trying to tell you his Boss with a plate of 754 is the first one built. I can deal with people when they do not know and admit that, I hate people that lie or make up crap they think you want to hear. There are times I rely on salespeople when buying some tech stuff but for the most part I educated myself before I go plunk down a chunk of change on anything. That is the best way to go, I rely on myself and when I hear BS I just walk away, nothing you can do or say to those types that will change things.

Is that what everyone thinks when a dealer asks for ADM?

Well stated.

My salespeople are very undereducated about most of our product line, much less a car that we will get a total of 2 for the 2012 MY. It shouldn't be this way, but we are always trying to improve.

No just greedy. Like the car with $25K ADM I posted about earlier today.

Now if someone offers Shane $25K that is being opportunistic since he was lucky enough to get 0001 and did not plot to find it.

For any of you though thought some of the video sounded like a truck, i know i did, that popping goes away once the car is warm.
I had the dealer pull the restrictor plates today - the sound is incredible - the plates will stay out. It really isn't any louder than the Roush, or at least not that I can tell inside the car (even with the windows down).
