Looks like he sold it locally as here are his latest comments on the listing...

"On May-04-11 at 05:44:44 PDT, seller added the following information:

This car is NOW SOLD locally as I noted in the auction, thanks for bidding. I can't end the auciton, which I did not realize when I placed it as an auction rather than fixed listing. Please no more bids"

Thanks, looks like happy ending to the story as that was his wish from the beginning. Just strange how eBay adjusted the bids but that does not matter now...

You can cancel the auction since it has 4 days left on it. Just google how to cancel ebay listing and it will give you form.

One person did make a good point that it may be considered a collectible and subject to those lower rates. Unfortunately, the short holding period means it would still get taxed at normal rates.
Charlie's post is specific, to duplicate similar comments is a waste of your time.

Regardless, it does not make any difference. The point is taxes will apply on one way or another and only an accountant can provide professional accurate advice as to the current tax law(s) which apply in this case.

My comments were posted for the sole reason for shane to be aware in case he was not and for him not to agree to sell the car prematurely without understanding of the net amount of the sale he would keep and avoid falling short on funds to complete his plan. Had the subject been mentioned on the thread I would have refrained from posting on the subject.

If he was aware, great. If not, now he is.

Great tactic use an eBay auction to get the local guy to raise the offer.

Perhaps the buyer will prefer the details to remain confidential.

sorry guys, weird day and I am trying to work to boot. anyway, eBay wont let me cancel the auction because its not a fixed price listing according to the error i get. i cant up the reserve either so all i could do was cancel the bids that were so close and email the bidders to say sorry. the local collector stepped up and gave me what i wanted all along

i editied this becuse the number of people following what is ogoin on with this car is shocking, the number of emaisl from that ebay listing with way too much info about me is thanks to me oversharing

the ebay thing wasn't a negotiation tactic with the local buyer, it was legit and basically a mid-court throw at the buzzer on my part to come out with another boss. the hard part with a car so new is figuring out what it is worth. since none had sold like this with #0001 on the plate he coudlnt put a number on teh value and once the bids started soaring, he realized his number was low and came up. It's worked out well for both of us.

lol yeah, too many irons in the fire today. buyer is getting me another boss just like mine. i say just like mine, i want CO, but told him if it didn't have the R/T option and a RR or PW car was available that did I would take those colors too as long as all have black graphics, not a huge fan of BY and kona and i dont want to wait. i would choke if its here fast enough to make my track day this weekend, but i don't see it happening until next week at the earliest.
