I could care less about your financial situation. It was you that brought this all into the equation!

By your own admission, you went from "going from thousands of dollars extra each month, to in teh red on a budget with nothing you can really skip or delay and only a few things to cancel" If I were in your position, I would take the extra cash from the sale of this Boss to purchase a reasonably priced daily driver (assuming the Boss was to be this car), put the rest of the cash in the bank as it sounds like you'll be needing it to stay out of the red til income gets replaced.

You also speak of still wanting to attend track event(s), yet more expenses that one would typically cut out if the income took such a hit!

Not asking for any explenations, just a bit confusing logic in my feeble mind!

As for selling Boss #1, I too would have put it up for sale to turn a profit!

I'd take a friend who shoots straight over one who beats around the bush in less than a heart beat.

I assume it is not easy being be you at this time. I don't envy your endeavor, neither your new eBay rating.

Shane,
It looks to me that the good Lord was looking out for you. A lucky break to get you through when times were tough. I get a Kick out of so many second guessing. We all know when we are in the middle of something difficult or stressful or unexpected, (which your situation was all of these) our decision making process gets a bit clouded. Its easy to second guess!! My guess is the first thing you would change if you could go back is to not post all this stuff for all these knuckle-heads to read! You did the right thing, looked out for the best for your family and still ended up with a Boss. Enjoy and Good Luck getting your life back to normal. Enjoy your Boss! A few years from now you will certainly have a good chuckle!

Shane, thank you for your openess and honesty in sharing your story.

I would have sold it at a profit too, regardless of the recent change in financial situation. It was a once in a lifetime set of circumstances where I think most of us would take advantage. Shane's name is already attached to the history of this car so he now gets to cherish and be nostalgic about his part of the story without the stress and paranoia of using #0001 as a daily driver.

how many "coincidences" can happen with one transaction. and FTR, i think god would be more into balance, handling, and the lack of heat soak, he would totally rock a boss 302.
