But why must you get 100k in order to sell it? You wouldn't be happy with 80k? Now you just sound completely greedy. Turning down 80k ( or whatever it might get to) and then keeping it would be STUPID beyond belief.

sorry if it was a joke, ive heard that a lot today lol

anyhow i want a boss, to get out of this one and get me another will take about $100k, that's why. $80k wont get me in another without coming out of pocket. It really depends, i'm not sure what to do just yet. I'm just kind of along for the ride at this point. if it doesn't hit reserve, which it probably wont and the closest bidder is at a price i can live with I can always contact them and make an offer.

The car is up to 69k right now, i am really surprised at the action on day one. most ebay pros wait until the last day and try to snipe in the minutes before closing. i need 6 figures to move the car and do what i want, or very very close.will it get there? who knows and if it doesn't then so be it. judging by the string of emails and action within the first 12 hours or so it's got more to go.

And ANY of you, can you honestly say if i walked up to you and your boss and said, man that car is great i will give you $100,000 for it that you would say, no i am a mustang purist and can't sell the car for that.

I hope you make at least 100K off it, and then go buy a Grabber Blue 2012 5.0 and build it exactly like your old 10 GT, then you have to post pictures of it for me to swoon over.

I can't see how 80k doesn't put money in your pocket? If you've got 50k in then that should allow you to get another Boss for the same price and then you've got 30k left over, minus auction costs, etc.

Not sure I'm following your logic here. If you get $30k over what you have into it, you made $30k regardless of the fact you would still need to put in $15k of your own money to get another. No matter how you look at it you've made whatever amount you get over what you paid.

IF you bought the car to drive, ANYTHING over what you paid is a bonus. You would have paid the same $50k whether it was #0001 or #2133, so if someone gives you $80k, you are $30k ahead.

My car is "not for sale". To ME, it's irreplaceable. I don't think I'll ever sell it, so its value is irrelevant. I did have a guy puch me a while back saying "everything's for sale", so I told him $200k, or about what it would cost me to buy a Heritage FGT. He suddenly wasn't interested.

WOW, $100k reserve met in first day with 6 days left! Hope you don't end up with a dead beat bidder winning this!

It's interesting to see how many are backing this yet if it we're a dealer trying this, most would be all over the Dealer!

Keeps going at this rate, he may be able to purchase 2 bosses free and clear and still pocket some coin!

I don't blame ShameM a bit...

How many of us can say we beat the snot out of #001? No one but ShaneM or who buys it.

It would be cool to see #001 on Barrett Jackson down the road and say that was my car and I beat the s*** out of it..and made a profit.

I don't use eBay often, but why did the same bidder raise his price 5 times over a 5 minute period from $70k to $100k with only one other bidder at $72k?

IIRC the way bidding works is you put your Maximum amount that you are willing to pay in as your bid, and Ebay lists it as that price. However it doesn't mean you have to pay that exact price, that is just your max price.

"You must place a bid that is higher than the current bid. Below the bidding box, you'll see the text "Enter (some amount) or more." This amount is the current minimum bid; you must enter at least this amount if you want to bid.

You may pay less than your bid if you win. When you win an auction you always actually pay only a small amount more than the next highest bid-even if your bid was thousands of dollars more.

Now it's down to 69.3k.

That's what you call finding the reserve! Bid up til you hit the no reserve, then retract your bid.

Apparently those 5 bids weren't legit. They're gone and it's back to $69k and change.

Yah, its kind of spooky to be at $100K right off the bat. I'm not sure how you keep bidders from messing with your auction. Clearly I have no understanding of the mind set of Daddy-Warbucks collector and how they might bid this one If this is real on day one, a cool quarter Million isn't out of the questions now is it! You GO Shane!
