Hey Elo,

I've got the QTP cutouts as well and they are slick indeed. Great party trick. Can you think of any reason that closing the valves all the way would cause any strange back pressure problems? I know i'm way over thinking this.

Based on what I've read from Ford and Mustang Boss 302: From Racing Legend to Modern Muscle Car (Donald Farr's recent book*), zero problems will emerge. The side exhaust on 2012 Boss 302s are mostly about sound and are intentionally designed to release very little back pressure.... note how much exhaust continues to flow from the mufflers even with the sidepipes fully open.

*Beginning on Page 111 in the book (an insightful read containing numerous interviews with the Boss design team) provides the complete story of the new Boss side exhaust design and implementation.

tsooby, the quad pipes neck down to about 13/16" where Ford inserted a baffle - similar to a muffler on a small Briggs and Stratton lawn mower engine. There isn't all that much flow making its way through anyway...

It is located between the two welds you see in the following shot

They hinted at it but have yet to move on it. I would have thought they would at least have brought forth a kit to adapt the entire quad system to a non-Boss 5.0 GT but they've yet to do that either. Maybe this year at SEMA? Mark?

I ordered up the QuickTime Performance cutouts yesterday, as well as their wireless remote kit. I spent some time speaking with "Barry" and he answered every technical question I threw at him. After seeing what Elo has done I am really looking forward to seeing the hardware first hand.

We were building it for them but they decided for us to sell it under our name instead of Ford Racing.

Ok, I have installed the electric dumps. All went fine and is a great product. The installation went well untill I started the electric portion. The electric connector in the console is a pain to wire. Installation would go very fast if you had the male part of the plug.( Plug and play ) Does anyone have the part number or know what the part is called to mate to this plug. I would like to make a clean factory type installation. Thanks

The male mate of the spare female plug in the console is available at the Ford parts counter. It is a 6-pin plug, 2 rows of three pins.

Ford part number 3U2Z-14S411-NBA

-or-

Motorcraft part number WPT444

Scott will the 2012 discs fit the 2013 Boss 302. If not you should definitely cancel your order for another car!

It is a good question, I assume they will but we will find out when the first 13 get delivered.

The 2013 exhaust is carried over from the 2012 cars. No changes.

But how did you get the wires from below to the inside? I thought I saw where someone said they took it through a grommet. But I've looked high and low, literally and can't find a way from under the car into the car at the console. Other than the shift boot and I'm not sure that would work long term.

If you are going to go to the trouble of installing the QTP cutouts then you might as well install the KOOKS new larger side pipes that will actually flow all of the exhaust out the side. Drew from KOOKS said they will be available shortly. This should be a killer set up for the Boss.
