Look in the back, center console storage bin and tell me if there is a cover over left rear opening where you access the e-brake adjustment. Mine is open and you can inadvertently drop items in the opening where they are not easily retrieved.

 

On my 2011GT there a rectangle block off plate snap into a opening behind the parking brake inside the rear center console opening . Hope this helps.

Are the base seats manufactured by Recaro? In that same set of pictures, there is an orange piece of paper with 'Recaro' written on it hanging in the trunk area.

 

I have no idea but it's possible.
