Order process

Hey again all,

What was the order process like for you? Trying to get an idea of the timeframe and milestones where money changes hands. I'd like to reward myself early next year for my bday with a Boss. I'm partially waiting until next year because I'll have my current vehicle paid off at the end of this year, and funds will be a bit easier to move around. Not sure if I should wait until then to find/order one, or if it would be better to order in the coming months seeing as how delivery takes awhile. How much of a deposit is required to order one of these puppies?

From what I've read, it all depends on how good of a dealer you can find. In regards to price, you will have to hunt around to find one at MSRP because the dealers think this is the 07 Shelby all over again and a lot are asking 5-10k over MSRP. Delivery doesn't necessarily "take a while"...it mostly depends on what quarter allocation the dealer was assigned. For example, if you went out right now and found a 2nd quarter allocation at a dealer, it could be built within a couple weeks. But if you find a 4th quarter allocation, then you will have to wait for months before Ford even thinks about pulling your order for production.

In regards to deposit, I gave my dealer $1,000...but it depends on the dealer I would assume.

One dealer asked for $500 and two others I spoke to asked for $1000.

typically 1000 and most will give the money back. be sure to get msrp in writing a few people have ordered and then had dealer come back and say 5k adm fee on the car after the fact.

I put down $1k, which was applied to the cost of the vehicle upon delivery.

I put down $0.00 and did everything over the phone with my local dealer when I ordered my Boss. Asked if he needed $500 deposit or so at the time of order and said nope were good to go at MSRP. Car should be here in approx 2-3 weeks, build date is 6/6.

I'm thinking when the car comes in I might see if I can work him a little to get $1000 or so off sticker. Local guy just bought a Boss at 1500 below sticker...
