A little chicken poop by Ford..
You may have seen that a couple of folks, including me, have Bosses with a miss matched center vent. The rectangular enclosure should have a satin finish. Well, ours are chrome.
After speaking with Ford directly, they have determined that I will have to pay for the replacement. You must report "cosmetic" problems within first 36 hour of ownership to the delivering dealer. I explained that this isn't a paint flaw or a dent. The car was built WRONG.
Anyway, it's now been months since I took delivery. The part is about $400, and I stopped by the dealer, and the tech told me about one hour labor. So, for $500 I can have my Boss put right. If this happened to my BMW, the dealer would have been all over it.
I'm not mad, just think it's bad policy to not fix build errors.

400$ is too high a quote for the part. I'm calling BS on the pricing. On the Ford parts site the price is ~280$, (~330$ retail).

Chris, I think you are correct about $330. I was guessing. The dealer said they'd cut me some slack on the part........Still chicken poop though.

Yep, PDI completed. I've already talked to the Customer Service people at Ford. Thats where the answer came from. I didn't buy the car from my local dealer, but they've been helpful.

Agreed, this is poor showing by Ford. Their policy is for someone scratching the car and then claiming it came that way and wanting it fixed, that makes sense. But for the wrong part on a car... foolish.
In a way it does make the car more special, but if you don't like the way it looks than I feel you should have the car set right by Ford. Good luck.
