CA is not holding up the trackey it's poor planning on Ford that's causing the delay. Those regulations have been in effect for years and the 2012 Boss cars meet it. This is not something new to Ford.

You guys sound like little babies crying over a $302 bottle of spilled milk.

Same here. One last comment I agree Ford should release a 49 state trackey. That's FORD's issue not California's. Go complain to Ford. Out.

Can someone who as actually received their Boss comment on the trackey and what the key currently does please. From what I've heard, you can't get the key yet, right? Well this dealer says this, and you guys seem to know wtf is going on, so I would love to put his foot in his mouth for him.

Not ture at all sir. Does in fact change the specs with track key in. trust me, I drove it with both keys.
Sound on exhaust sounds better with track key in also. Noticed the welds on the side dumps look like crap.
I made a video driven this boss also.

OK, well for now I'll have to say I went out and started the car with both keys and revved it. I have the discs out so the idle is lopey and burbling from the side exhaust. I'm thinking that is maybe what he's hearing. We're going out tonight so I guess I'll deliberately drive with red key on the way out and black key home, but it's not going to matter. It's an after-market product so there's no way it came active from the factory. My dealer was told it's not available and has no ETA so they obviously didn't reflash it.

Available Summer 2011 - Pending California Air Resource Board (CARB) approval.

Thanks Gary. I finally...after providing point after point...got the dealer to admit that maybe he didn't know wtf he was talking about. My biggest concern is I'm sure he was telling the customer who bought the car that the red key was special and what not. I hate when consumers get bogus information..as do others on this forum I've seen. I was just trying to make sure that I knew wtf I was talking about as well

Yeah, I was about ready to spit fire at that point. Obviously I'm looking to track the car after breaking it in and everyone's initial understanding was that the "red key" would be available with the car. Forgot to mention the dude also confirmed the price would be between three and four hundred $$$. No big deal but...where have I seen a price stated via Ford? Nowhere.
Hello All,

Purchasers of the Boss 302 Mustang have an option to upgrade their vehicles performance by purchasing "TracKey" (a Ford Racing Part Number) for $302 plus dealer labor after they take delivery of their car.

TracKey- Consumers have the opportunity to have "TracKey" Powertrain Control Module software installed at their dealership.
The software is only available to Boss Owners after the consumer purchases their vehicle.
The software will be available as a Ford Racing Part Number thru their Ford Dealer. The software/part number should be available for installation late summer of this year.

Log on to www.trackey.ford.com for further information.

Boss 302 customers/Ford Dealers can contact the Ford Racing Performance Group Hotline at 1-(800) 367-3788 if you have any questions

My car is a Q4 delivery...if TracKey is not ready by then, I'm going to be seriously annoyed--because this car is going on the track ASAP once it arrives.

I'd imagine that those of us that have already taken delivery of their BOSSes are "displeased" to say the least.
