Finally managed to nab a Laguna Seca!!!
For others who may be in the shopping mode - my advice is to keep many pokers in the fire. One of them will hit. In summary form, a couple of examples.
Last Friday my good friend was literally sitting down at a dealership in CA putting pen to paper for an LS at $2K over when his phone rang. It was another dealer, 4 hours South of his location who said that their owner would let them sell their LS at MSRP. My buddy went and secured the LS at MSRP at one of the nicest Ford dealerships I have ever stepped foot on. This was last Friday.
My situation. I have had a firm order in at a respected dealership for $5K over. Some of you may recall some of my earlier posts where the car was supposed to be a Q1 build but later we learned that it was a 3Q build presumably scheduled for July. Grrrr. I began to shop to see if I could improve the timeline, price, or both. I networked A LOT! I found a dealer getting in an LS within the next week and I had a "soft" commitment (nothing in writing) to secure the car for $4k over. Dealer for a variety of reasons would NOT secure any further and I remained skeptical, but hopeful.
Yesterday I was in the office and I got a call from another dealer that I had visited 4 weeks ago because I saw that they had an LS in-bound. At that time they would not make a commitment other than to say they would likely look for 10-15K ADM. So, yesterday when the called they said that we could close a deal likely between 6500 and 7500 over. I told them I had a firm deal (perhaps a white lie) for a car being delivered Monday at $4K over and if they wanted my business they would need to be at no more than $3K over. The GM phoned the owner and then called me back and said if I came in, the car was mine for the $3K over!!

Screw the LS, show pics of the GT
Nice. I'll have to stop by on one of my drives to SoCal and check that out. Does your business have a website?
Have you driven your LS? If so how about your initial driving impressions?

Man I couldn't TT a FGT. The exhaust sound is what makes it alluring in addition to the bodywork. It would have to be an N/A race build for me though. Cage and all from a wrecked GT would be my ideal dream in about 10 years.
BTW are those you all's trusses?

bumper plugs...
at bumperplugs.com
I also had requested that they not install the front license plate holder. they didn't install it. but I do have two tiny holes in the bumper anyway. are those there on everyone's car?
nora4re: whereabouts are you?

When did you get it? We need photos! My ETA just got bumped again to 6/30.
I know those parts well...I used to be the ford rep in that area...worked with the likes of Galpin and the then "Magic' Ford in the santa clarita auto mall. that store got almost as big as Galpin but ultimately was taken over by one of the big conglomerates...autonation, I believe.
do you do gt40 replicas as well? and / or, what is your business relative to those cars?
I had the distinct pleasure of spending a few hours behind the wheel of a 06 fgt a few months ago...a truly wonderous machine. (if that's even a word)
everything about that car is amazing.
I'm up in norcal, Los Gatos. if you're ever up this way, please drop a line. and if you're interested in tracking with a great, private, group...come as my guest with CFRA. I think Dave, 4pipes, will be joining me in the coming months.
