Finally managed to nab a Laguna Seca!!!

With literally a half dozen pokers in the fire, I received an unexpected call today from a dealership with a $15K ADM but in need of moving some inventory. With all the deals and potential deals - from solid to fairly suspect, I finally felt like I was in the driver's seat with price. Managed to close the deal and drove 3.5 hours each way and trailered "her" home!!!

Dealership respected my wished to not touch anything. No gas. I prefer to do everything myself!! I'm a happy (but sleepy) camper!!!

Here's the car in the showroom when I arrived!!

Here's my son and ace Ford GT mechanic driving it off the showroom floor!

Finally, a pic at home in the shop.

I've still not had a chance to drive it!! Tomorrow after work.... can't wait!

Awesome, congratulations! I just saw one on a showroom floor this morning. They have a $25K markup on it.

Is that a GT-40 back end hanging above the LS in your garage?

Did they put the front license plate on before you got there?

Smile

That LS looks so COOL ! Congrats. I still would like for Ford to pump up the production numbers for the 2013 Boss 302 LS so there will not be ADMs.

Despite that they called me when they were unloading it and I told the salesman, "DONT LET THEM PUT THE PLATE ON IT", he called me midway in my 4-hour drive to tell me that he hadn't been successful. I HATE front plates but now I will deal with it - experimenting with the best ways to mask the holes that are now there! A new front bumper isn't out of the realm of possibilities although I really think I will find something workable that is not so drastic.

For others who may be in the shopping mode - my advice is to keep many pokers in the fire. One of them will hit. In summary form, a couple of examples.

Last Friday my good friend was literally sitting down at a dealership in CA putting pen to paper for an LS at $2K over when his phone rang. It was another dealer, 4 hours South of his location who said that their owner would let them sell their LS at MSRP. My buddy went and secured the LS at MSRP at one of the nicest Ford dealerships I have ever stepped foot on. This was last Friday.

My situation. I have had a firm order in at a respected dealership for $5K over. Some of you may recall some of my earlier posts where the car was supposed to be a Q1 build but later we learned that it was a 3Q build presumably scheduled for July. Grrrr. I began to shop to see if I could improve the timeline, price, or both. I networked A LOT! I found a dealer getting in an LS within the next week and I had a "soft" commitment (nothing in writing) to secure the car for $4k over. Dealer for a variety of reasons would NOT secure any further and I remained skeptical, but hopeful.

Yesterday I was in the office and I got a call from another dealer that I had visited 4 weeks ago because I saw that they had an LS in-bound. At that time they would not make a commitment other than to say they would likely look for 10-15K ADM. So, yesterday when the called they said that we could close a deal likely between 6500 and 7500 over. I told them I had a firm deal (perhaps a white lie) for a car being delivered Monday at $4K over and if they wanted my business they would need to be at no more than $3K over. The GM phoned the owner and then called me back and said if I came in, the car was mine for the $3K over!!
