Dealer being weird?

Okay, so I finally find a Boss within 2 hours from me and it is even in Iowa. Dealer had it listed on EBay for MSRP with a best offer counter option. Called today today to put down a deposit and was told they were not sure if they were going to sell it?!?

Was also told they were taking bids....and that an advertised price with best offer means a starting price with offers over.

I'm going to keep looking...

I bet that dealer is receiving several calls daily. It is unlikely the dealer will commit to sell unless you happen to be the white pigeon with the big bucks it's waiting for. Why don't you wait and let the dust settle? Let those in a hurry go first, it is not like the production is going to stop with #500.

I feel very confident everyone who is serious in getting a Boss will eventually have one, just as it has been with every other hot Mustang.

i learned this buying mine, they may have 10 call a day but few serious biters. call them and tell then you will take the car at sticker and will be there in a few hours to buy it. once they see you are serious they may come back with the "5K over" then tell them you have a car on order elsewhere and it will be here in a few months, but you would like to take this one if they match msrp. they want to sell these cars. i finally called and asked fro the Internet manager, try that or the sales manager. salesmen at most of these lots will ignore calls but the web manager makes his money off call in orders.

I was dealing with the internet manager...he said the owners were thinking of keeping it themselves (lam salesman's tatic) and that they were waiting to see on the price. I don't have a problem with ADMs...I do have a problem with stores not honoring an advertised price. I know it is legal...but in my opinion it is not ethical.
