Boss Warranty

Boss Warranty

For all new buyers of a Boss who wish to purchase an extended warranty.
I wanted to share my findings with Ford in regards to any extended warranty options available to you at the time of purchase.

If you plan to use the track key you will not void your stock factory warranty, however the extended plans that ford offers ( I think there are like 3 or 4) are not applicable for your Boss.

This information came straight from Ford and my dealership took the extra step of reaching way up the Ford ladder to confirm the information. They just reached back out to me a few days ago to let me know.

Thanks for the info. I am too interested...
Can you find out details on what is not covered on the extended?
If its not too much trouble.

You're wrong, provisions in the extended warranty are still effective after the 36K TracKey warranty expires as long as TracKey is not the root cause. (Other components besides TracKey are covered.)

Deysha from Ford Customer Service already clarified this topic in another thread (which I can't find at the moment). I also spoke with Ford Racing's warranty folks and they agreed.

I certainly am not trying to post any misinformation, I'm just trying to help out.
This is certainly not a conclusion I made myself, this came down straight from Ford and from my dealership which happens to be the #1 volume seller in the world so they do have a pretty direct line up to ford corporate.

I did a helluva lot of research before I bought my boss. During the purchase at "warranty time" I asked them if any of the extended packages applied. 45 min later they said no, but that they would ring up ford corporate and if any of the extended applied AFTER I installed track key on my boss , then they would sell me those packages.

2 days went by and I got a call from the dealership along with the documentation straight from ford stating that the extended warranty options do not apply to the 2012 ford boss 302 after it has received the track key.

They made it clear that the original 3yr/36K mi factory warranty is NOT affected and will be honored with or without the track key.

I'm sure others may have a different opinion but I ask anyone who replies to this post to actually read the warranty papers from ford before posting any opinions.

thanks and I hope this might save some of you out there some money and potential headaches in the future.
See Deysha's post at 9:45AM on 10/24...

https://themustangsource.com/f813/trackey-has-arrived-ford-s-email-all-ford-lincoln-dealers-501292/index6/
Hey thanks, I’ve read parts of that thread before and I agree with the statement on (10/24/11, 6:45 AM ) from Deysha what went something like:

"Now, to clarify on the warranty questions… This will be like any other FRPP aftermarket part that you add to your vehicle with one exeption; the repairs will be covered longer than 12/12. The 5 yr/60K mile Powertrain warranty will stay in effect. If the the TracKey programming causes any concern, that specific repair will be covered for 3yrs or 36,000 miles. This is great coverage for an aftermarket part on your vehicle. If you have any ESP, the same rules will apply.
"

and I agree with this. I am talking about the up-sell "extended" warranty that dealers try and sell you when you buy your car. These packages extend the base warranty from ford some up to 10 yrs/100,000 miles and they add other stuff like tire protection...etc
Its these up-sell extended warranties that do not apply to the 2012 boss 302 with track key installed.
Again its not my opinion, this is directly from Ford and Galpin Ford here in Los Angeles. They showed me exactly where in the ford documentation concerning the extended warranty options the 2012 boss 302 with track key does not qualify.
Anyway I'm not trying to start a big debate just trying to help out. But don’t take my word go ask your dealer and then don’t take their word but rather ask for proof as in the actual literature from ford that talks about the extended warranty.

Elso, not saying your wrong, I have no idea, but the "extended warranty options" you are referring to are called ESP. (extended service plan) And per Deysha's post there is conflicting info from what you have shared and what she said.

Thats cool I know warranty issues can be complicated. I'd love it if Deysha or anyone else on the forum could get a copy of the actual document from Ford and upload it...I would run right back to my dealer buy the extended plan and install my track key !!!

I just have a hard time taking word of mouth when it comes to warranty issues. If its not in writing then it's no good....coming from a guy who's learned this the hard way $$$$

I think we can all agree to that, unfortunately.
