So I figured it out. It didn't read the text because I told it Bluetooth audio. If you say USB it reads the file data. So it works without Isimple. Sorry all this new technology can be confusing especially with a 3 year old in your other ear.

Got the i-Simple and Sirius receiver installed today. Everything works fine...Sync included. I had to put DIP switch two to the "On" position....so guys with 2013's and Sync...make sure to set the switch on. The only other thing....as was mentioned previously ...there is little or no room to pull out the factory unit. There is almost no slack in the cables and especially the radio antenna.

I found it easiest to remove components from top to bottom. So, the LCD display was the first component removed. Then there is a rectangular box that sits between the LCD display and the CD/ radio unit......My assumption is that rectangular black box contains the Sync bits. Finally the CD/ radio unit. I started by removing the large plug closest to the driver's side and worked to the passenger. The last thing was the radio antenna. It was extremely nice to have the added length from the i-Simple harnesses...but that stupid antenna managed to delay re-assembly.

Total time invested by me....3-4 hours....but I took my time. Now it would go much quicker....but I'll need time for my hands to heal from all the scratches .

Anyone thinking about this upgrade...I'd highly recommend it. Don't know why Ford doesn't offer it as a standard feature....at least for us non LS Boss's.

I just grabbed an SCC1 at Fry's for $20 after rebate. Guess that means I'm going the iSimple route, so I ordered one of those off the Internet just now.

Thanks for the removal tips above Senderofan. Did you need any special "radio keys" or the like to get your radio out or can it be done with standard tools? Where do I start to peel off the trim bits to get at it?

You start by removing the plastic piece ( silver gray ) that is on top of the shifter console. This is held in place with press fixtures...no tools...start by lifting the back( just inside the closed compartment from the rear. Be careful....there is a harness connected to the traction control and hazard switches...you don't have a lot of slack...but that harness is easily disconnected. I turned the shifter trim piece sideways....couldn't get the shifter ball loosened. Next is thefront pannel that covers the radio unit and contains all the switches and dials. This has two 7mm screws at the bottom corners. Once those are removed....the rest is held in with press fit....you have to hook fingers into the edges..just outbound of where you removed the two screws. Popping the bottom and working up. Be careful...there is a small wire harness connected down low on the passenger's side....this also has limited slack but is easily disconnected.

You will now have the LCD screen and the rest exposed. Start at the top with the LCD...it has four screws..I think...and is easily removed and its wire harness disconnected. Then the black rectangular box...which has one harness on the front....I had to insert a screw driver in the slot of the tabs that hold the box in place...there is finger tabs that click the thing in place. Then it's the beast of the project...the radio /cd unit. This is held in place with four screws ( All the screws are 7mm BTW ). The tricky part is disconnecting the harnesses and antenna.

Read the instructions carefully...I messed up by re-connecting the factory harness to the LCD screen. The i-Simple kit comes with a special harness for that....it has the 16 pin side that goes into the LCD screen on one end and a four pin ( That connects to the i-Simple harness ) on the other.

Good Luck....no special tools required...just patience and be prepared toget a few scratches and perhaps use a little colorful language !

Well, I got it in. Install was real simple. Thanks again for the guide.

Reception was pretty terrible trying to mount the antenna in the front and rear windows. Finally, I just relegated to sticking it on the outside, center body above the rear view mirror. Reception is much better now. I guess I'll get used to the look. I first tried under the plastic cowling of the hood area, but that seemed like reception would suck there too.

As for the iSimple itself, I wish integration was better. Getting limited to 6 buttons of presets, 12 character titles and the constant category display that could've been used for song info is weak sauce. That said, at least I have Sat in my Boss.

2013 speaker wiring colors

Trying to figure out the factory speaker wire colors (at the speakers) on a base 2013 GT.
The left front wires are white and white orange stripe. The right side wires are white with black stripe and white with orange or red stripe. I matched each prong closest to the locking tab as positive on each side just not sure if i have the + on the actual plus terminal or the negative of each.
Thanks in advance.

I know nothing about satellite radio, do you make monthly payments and subscribe to it like you would satellite TV?
We have only antenna TV, can't get cable either where we are, and I was always leary of the $28 for the first 12 months and it jumps to what ever after, does Satellite radio do the same?

Enjoy the NASCAR station.

Do not care for Sirius/Xm, I let it expire and did not renew. They offered it to me then for a much reduced rate which I accepted, kept it for awhile at the reduced rate and then let that expire. It was just not worth it to me at any price, I prefer Pandora.

Does the radio display what song is playing through the iphone with the Isimple because mine does not in the base unit via usb port and my iphone screen just reads accessory connected. if thats the the case the line out at least lets me see what song is playing if i look at the phone. Kinda longwinded just got questions
Thats odd because my USB port connected iPod Touch displays the song / artist when I have it connected
