Unhappy Absolutely nauseous...hail damage all over.

Just had the worst hail storm I've ever seen roll through the area, wave after wave of increasingly large hail... Unfortunately, there wasn't a whole lot I could do, or wanted to risk doing to try and minimize the damage. But, long story short, I don't think there's a single body panel on the car that was spared. I'm just absolutely sick over this.

Man that sucks, I feel really really bad for you. I don't know what I would do if it were me, I spent all day stressing over a little bump I put in my deck lid, makes you think ...

On the bright side a good body shop should be able to make it good as new

Horrible. I'm very sorry.

I would definitely try paintless dent repair. After a hail event you'll find a lot of storm chasers in the area. You'll want a company who is local, not a storm chaser who'll be out of town when the clouds clear and don't typically have as well trained employees. Good luck man, I'd be sick too.

Thanks guys. I already put in a claim with my insurance online, no obligation to have them pay for it yet. I want to make some calls tomorrow and look into the paintless dent repair like you guys suggested. I had a buddy two summers ago that had similar damage and the repair shop he took it to never could match the paint and he ended up selling the car.

I'll be sure to let you guys know how it all pans out. Obviously I'm hoping for the best, too...

To put a silver lining on it, at least it didn't get picked up by a tornado and flung into the next county. And the glass is all intact. So there's that. There were about 60-80 cars at a mall a mile north of me with busted windshields... then a mile to my south my buddy was sending me pics of him holding plum sized hail. As bad as the Boss got it, it could have been much worse, so I am thankful that it wasn't.

Jeeze! That's horrible! Good luck getting it fixed up!

Same thing happened to my GT last year. Best I could do was put it under a tree and hope the leaves/branches absorbed enough.

my dad worked for a car lot in garland years ago when a big storm rolled through, there was one car about ten times worse than you got hit. they sent a couple guys out and a day later you would never have known the car was damaged, a good paintless dent guy can work miracles.

So sorry this happened to you. I lived through the same thing back in May 2008. I only had my car three months. Golf ball sized hail. Every single panel on my car was damaged. My dealer has a great body shop and they did a wonderful job putting it back like new.

Rich,

That's horrible. I feel for you.

We get bad hail storms all the time here, and one thing I've learned. If you use the dentless repair folks, wait until the rush is over - that way the guy will take his time to do it perfect as opposed to doing a decent job, but not perfect, because he has other customers calling him on the phone, etc., and he "rushes" through your job so he won't lose out on another job(s).

Our dentless guys seem to be independent operators, so you'll have to check out their work before you sign one up.

Wow really sorry Rich. That just sucks. Sounds like there's a good chance of fixing it up though. That's just bad luck. Two weeks ago at my first track event, we ended up not being able to run Sunday due to lack of numbers. So, as luck would have it, I loaded up and headed North. About an hour from the track, someone called me from there and said a massive hail storm was blowing through. Just dumb luck that I missed it.
