2012 302 Grill and Surround Question

I'm about to pick-up a new 2012. One off-the-bat modification I'd like to make is replacing the stock grill with the 302S version for enhanced cooling from its enmeshed fog lamp cutouts which will also provide me an opportunity to repaint the surround to match the accent color.

In studying the parts diagram, the grill and surround seem to be a single part number. Are they indeed also a single piece of plastic? Would painting the surround require masking-off the grill area? I hoped the part consisted of two (or more) components that could be easily-separated and the corresponding part painted accordingly.

The car isn't handy at the moment and I've done my best to study the pictures available. Unfortunately, none are sufficiently detailed to distinguish between a well-masked grill and whether the component consists of two (or more) discrete pieces - i.e. the surround and an insert

I'd appreciate any assistance from anybody who's familiar with this component, especially the many who seem to have already modified their own cars accordingly.

Thanks in advance.

It's one piece and you'd need to mask it to paint it like stock.

Just drill out the holes or cut out the faux fogs and safety wire in some mesh, save yourself 350 bucks.

Yep. Would love to borrow one of the masking jigs they certainly used at Flat Rock.

Maybe it's time to start trolling parking lots for a white '12...
