now that I see it-- I think I might like it.

I'm the one that posted this thread and I'm about to change my mind. I think they did a very good job with the design considering the car has to pass all kinds of safety crap such as if a person texting while walking walks in front of you they will not get hurt. It still has the look of a Mustang and even though they added a four cylinder to the engine line-up it seem to be a very good High performance turbo four. I'm really happy they are keeping the 3.7 V6 because it has proved to be a really nice powerful, reliable engine. Of course they have to keep the V8 and it is a truly tremendous engine in a Mustang. The independent rear suspension is also a very good improvement for the Auto-X and track people that like more handling and track performance. The Drag racers probably won't be thrilled with independent rear suspension until they have some parts coming out to modify it for better off the line hole shots.
Yep, I think Ford did a good job on the 2015 Mustang. I will probably just keep my 2012 3.7 automatic for at least ten or twelve years (maybe Longer) I like the looks, performance and MPG as well as the ride of my Mustang. It would be hard for me to give my "RED RYDER" up.

With less weight overall as well as better front to rear weight distribution than either the V6 or V8 it's going to be One Hell of a Great Handling Car! As for it looking like (insert car here) or not looking like a Mustang? Ummm Are You Blind?

So you make the tail lights red and it's a 69 mustang? It has more resemblance to a fusion than a 69 mustang. Mustang went from a aggressive muscle look to a generic sports coupe look. Throw the genesis 5.0 in their coupe and you have a 2015 mustang.

I think the Big Issue here is that People who Only See Fusion/ Aston Martin, are Focusing on the Shape of the Upper Grill Opening Only, and not looking at the Upper and Lower Opening as One Big Opening with the "Bumper" separating it into Upper and Lower halves. Much like the Grill Opening on the 68 Shelby Mustang, which as I posted before, was the inspiration for the 05-11 GT-500 and Entire 12-14 Mustang lineup, and now the 2015.

One thing that was mentioned early on by Jay Mays, was they wanted to lower the front bumper height from the S-197's height and eliminate the huge shelf from the front of the car, which added too much visual weight to the nose of the car. In doing this, the designers lowered the "Bumper Bar" that bisects the grill opening but kept the overall shape of the grill the same.

If you look closely at the Grill Opening of the 68 Shelby pictured above, you will notice it's Upper Section also has a hint of the turned in corners at it's lower outboard ends, which is where People are getting the "Aston Martin" from on the 2015. It is however a Mustang that the 2015 (as well as the Evos) derives it's Grill shape from, but it picks up on in a fresh and modern way by lowering the Bumper in that opening a bit further.

To be fair, even though People say that the 2015 Mustang's Grill (and a lot of People say that Fusion's Grill) looks lika an Aston Martin's it really only bears a passing resemblance to an Aston Martin's Grill, the Aston Martin Grill has a Very Distinct and Pronounced inward curve at its Upper Outboard Ends, below the Headlamps, before changing angle and tapering inward.

I guess you haven't seen this Official Sketch of the 2015 Mustang by Kemal Curic, The Lead Designer of the 2015... The front end was inspired by the 68 Shelby... Which Predates the "Fusion by, Oh give or take 45 Years... The 2015 is PURE MUSTANG. It looks Nothing Like a Genesis Coupe. Hell l a lot of people are complaining they think it looks too much like the current model Mustang

So the grill opening bares a resemblance to a 68 = pure mustang? As many have said, besides the mustang emblem you wouldn't know this car from any other coupe on the street.

By your logic we could take any car, make the grill similar to a previous mustang , black out the rear brake lights, give it the side profile of a 350z, all the styling cues every other car in ford's lineup and it's PURE mustang?

Nah he's much happier dumping all over it in vain hope that everyone will fall in line with his opinion.

I guarantee you that this car will not be mistaken for anything other than a Mustang.

I'm sorry, but I've been reading you prattle on and you simply are making yourself look foolish. Every car available today and in fact forever has born a passing resemblance to one car or another. This car, much like the EVOS are building upon Ford's most famous face to drive the corporate look, and I for one think that is a smart thing. Each car has it's own interpretation, and the Mustangs is very much rooted in its greatest decade, the 60's. But this is if course, my opinion and you are entitled to yours but I do believe you should be prepared to find your opinion outdated when you see the car in person. Shall I buy you a coffee at the Detroit show in January, when we can both cement our final and far more accurate opinions?

So your opinion is golden and mine makes me foolish? Plain and simple I don't like it now and I doubt I will then. Enjoy your two door fusion, does it resemble one enough for you?
