I know that some of the mustangsource guys have seen it. Anyone not love it??? Has anyone seen a writer for any magazine not give kudos for it's astetics. Obviously there will have to be finished production level examples before we know much about performance. But, it seems pretty unanimous that's it's a sexy looking beast. Obviously there are likely writers that I haven't seen, so clue me in if you've read differently.
Agree Eric, I saw the car at the Venice beach unveiling and the car looks more impressive even at 50 feet away than it ever will in photos.

Not that I don't think the new Mustang is awesome, every time I see new pictures or video I am impressed but when it comes to major buff books I'm always a little suspect when they gush over a new model as a paycheck of some sort is involved. It always seems any new model be it a forgettable mode of transportation or something like the new Mustang is the greatest thing since sliced bread when its introduced and a year later after the checks have been cashed its the worst.

I think the only person in the industry I lend credence to is Robert Cumberford when he did or does a styling analyst of a new automobile. His reviews come off as a bit more honest anyways.

The car in the pic looks like it belongs in the Cars cartoon.

I like the look of the 15, but I'll wait until the SVT version comes out.

And Ford deliberately lowered the power rating of the V6 so as to make the 2.3T seem like more of an upgrade - just like they do with the 5.0 in the F-150 - they rate the EcoBoost 5hp more with way more torque, even though with a better tune, the 5.0 would exceed those numbers. It's marketing.

Well now, that's what I was thinking Pat. Marketing is an unusual monster. Underrate to get folks to look at the newer, more powerful, and costly engines. I do hope that Ford has figured out a fix for the condensation problem in their 3.5L EcoBoost, and it doesn't creep into these turbo engines.

BTW, the new F-150's will have a 2.7L TT offering. Not sure how this will translate with the truck guys out there.

My last company had a fleet of EcoBoost F-150s that were used for towing and hauling. They were all XLT 4x4s, but they didn't spec out the heavy duty towing packages, thinking their 6500lbs worth of trailer and car wouldn't be overloading the trucks towing capabilities - boy were they wrong. None of the trucks had more than 20k miles and almost all of them (I saw 5-7 personally) had knocking (obviously not the direct injection) and the trailers would throw the trucks around on grades. I was shocked, but mostly blame the company for not spending the extra money to get the heavy duty cooling and towing options. Still, I expected more from an F-150, even a semi-base model.

Here's the biggest problem with the 2015 Mustang:

The cheap *** black plastic sideskirts.

Every manufacturer pulls this crap. They introduce a new model of a car with really crappy black plastic sideskirts, then a couple years later, what do they do? A cosmetic refresh on the car which includes painting those skirts, *instantly* dating the older cars and making them look terrible.

The 2015 Mustang might look great now, but wait a few years and it will look like crap as the body style ages and progresses and gets a couple facelifts.

Funny, because I love the black side skirts on my 11 model more than the 13 and 14 side skirts which are painted the same color as the car.

I was thinking along similar lines: EVERY car in the universe has these and those on the Stang look like tacked on afterthoughts that detract rather than enhance the basic lines/design. Sure, maybe they are functional aerodynamically, but it still looks like the wind tunnel engineers and the designers weren't coordinating very well. Any aerodynamic elements ought to be considered from the beginning and far better integrated into the overall basic design itself.

I was thing that, at least, perhaps offer some different colors/finishes. I was thinking perhaps a brushed light and dark metallic options might be interesting. I think Volvo just started offering this on some models.

I like the color and the look for "slimming down" the car. I prefer them over the painted sills, especially since part of their function (according to Ford people) is to ward off rock chip damage on the lower painted surfaces.

Invariably, this will happen for some people just because things change.

Lol hey who knows, I could see a diesel offering for Europe down the road. Back when Ford was developing a light duty diesel for the F-150, I had dreams of swapping it into my 2000 and doing a full Banks install, with short stacks coming out the back window and dually wheels within a nice wide body
