Who is it that's taking drugs? Ronnie, where did you get the idea that the next-gen Mustang is going to look like a Kia? Everyone knows that it's going to be a dead ringer for an AMC Pacer. Or was it the Tucker Torpedo? And the convertible version is going to look like a Volkswagen Thing.

 

Volume 58 #10 Car & Driver among other rags show this as being a Mustang. UGH!!!

So, Ronnie, you have a problem with the idea of a four cylinder engine in a Mustang. Ever hear of Offenhauser? How about the BMW M12/13 engine that powered the 1983 Formula 1 championship car? That one was a 1,500cc turbocharged in-line 4 that was reported to produce something like 1,300HP.

 

I'm really confused on why so many people have an issue with a 4 banger turbo next generation mustang. If the 4 banger turbo is throwing down 1/4 mile numbers of less than 14.0 flat and busting out 0-60 in under 5 seconds, then what's the problem. The engine size has nothing to do with the exterior design . If the new 15 pony looks good then why is it an issue how many cylinders are in the engine bay. The 8 cylinder engine is not the end all be all of the universe. Fantastic that you can get more HP from a v8 compared to a 4 or 6 banger. For the person who isn't looking for a 850 HP car, why does it matter if 300 plus HP is all the consumer needs and wants. Maybe someone doesn't care about going 160 mph because not many places one can do that when going to Wal Mart and Home Depot because that's what most people do in there car. If the 4 banger is getting 38 mpg and looks sexy, then what's the problem? Ford can make a 2 banger mustang for all I care asking as its as fast as my current V6 or faster, then I like it. So let me ask you this question.

If a 4 banger turbo mustang traveling 1/4 mile in 13.7 seconds and a v6 mustang travels 1/4 mile in 13.7 and a V8 model mustang travels 1/4 mile in 13.7 seconds which banger is faster?
