Took Delivery, then immediate warranty work

I took delivery on Saturday of a Magnetic Gray Manual I4 Ecoboost with 201a and the performance package. I absolutely loved it for the 30-40 minutes I was able to drive it.

Unfortunately, Saturday was a fairly warm day and it became evident quickly that the A/C was not blowing cool air. I took it back within an hour and at first they thought it was a "Control Module." They kept it for the weekend and gave be a base V6 with Auto as a loaner.

Yesterday they let me know that they're replacing the compressor instead. It is supposed to be done by 6PM. So, hopefully today I get my baby back as good as new.

Has anyone else had any major issues upon delivery?

Nothing like that, but I did have a few little aggravation things in the first week on our '13, roof latch broke, drivers window out of alignment, double pull door latch on the passenger side. Things do happen on a mass produced item, especially when you outsource so many parts. Hope that's the only problem you have.

Yes, I've had cars that have had little nit-picky things, but nothing this major in recent memory. I'm not too worried about, except I do want my car back!

I hope that's your only issue. I refuse to get first model year cars for that reason. The IPTV (incidents per thousand vehicles) are higher than average as they work to resolve assembly, integration and sub-component issues in the first months of production.

Yeah, but a part like an AC compressor on that engine is probably a carryover from '14 and not a piece of new engineering so that should not happen.

I picked her up tonight and she's as good as "new"- considering she only had 30 miles on it when I took her back. I agree, the compressor shouldn't have been a new part, and it was probably just a fluke it needed to be replaced.

While in, they tinted the windows, put nitrogen in the tires, and detailed her up. Overall, I'm happy to have her back. I'll get pictures tomorrow.

Yes, my 2011GT had many little items that needed fixing - all under warranty. More problems than I am used to for a $35k new car. Glad you are back on the road in your new Mustang, enjoy!

So they changed them from air to nitrogen.... did you have to pay for that? My dealer doesn't work with nitrogen.

They normally do, I think $99 (overpriced by the way). In fact, the two closest Ford dealers to me will do the swap out. They did not charge me. Likely making up for the fact my car had 30 miles on it (and in my possession for ~2 hours) prior to being returned for the AC work. They really were great about it, even though it wasn't their fault or in their control.

Sounds like me. Had a 2007 GT delivered last Friday (28th November) and the starter motor crapped out on Saturday. Advised by the dealer that they are picking up the repair costs.
