A 10 speed transmission? Sounds like my Free Spirit bicycle from Sears years ago. 
Seriously, there has to be a sweet spot for gear ratio count. Ten sounds like an awful lot of shifting going on. I'm interested in this because my next stang will be an auto and I was planning on waiting for the new tranny/5.0 combo. Is this more hyperbole? I haven't been keeping up lately. 
Well a quick google shows it to be true. Go computer controlled power trains.

I said it before that the trinity motor would carry over but nobody believed me and many said I was crazy. Anyway if the GT 500 comes in the new body I will buy one before it goes away.

Don't worry. I will be the first to tell you that you were wrong when it is confirmed. I will post pictures of it when I buy the car too. It may only be around a year or two like the 94/95 mustangs kept the old 5.0 engines before switching to the 4.6. Keep in mind that the voodoo engine is still in development and the SVT in the videos was not a flat plane V-8. Call me crazy but the trinity is sticking around a little longer.

Can't please everyone.
The Shelby drives remarkably well into and out of turns for a 3900lb nose-heavy car. No one buys a Shelby for gas mileage. No one. The '13 and '14 Shelbys are unapologetic about what they are. They're also worth every single penny paid.

You don't think a twin turbo V8 with a unique crankshaft, displacement (maybe using a unique block) and possibly the only engine in the lineup fitted with DI and has to be every bit as tough and indestructible as the engine it replaces is going to be any cheaper?

So Ford is going to pull a 2010. Sell people the new 2015 Mustang with the old rated engines and transmissions. Then upgrade them the next year????????

I imagine any TT 5.something would be shared a bit more broadly than the GT500 only Trinity motor for greater economy of scale and thus, lower prices than the bespoke 5.8. While it might linger on a year or so as Ford readies its replacement, I can't imagine this Mod motor swan song lasting much longer. Given how stonking powerful/fast the various Euro TT V8s are, I wouldn't be too worried about its demise.

Hmm I like it! It is a step into a new direction without going full evos concept on us. I could see that car with no badging and think 'hey a new mustang'.
Due to my owning a 2014 gt500 I hope the 5.8 trinity does not carry over. Mainly because I jumped on a 2014 with the understanding the 5.8l would not fit the new update. Also curious how hard will it be for Ford to make an IRS to handle that power just for a year or two. What would the price have to be to be profitable?
With the new Vette being by far the best performance bargain in the world right now... what will an svt mustang costing as much or more have to do? I think the NA 5.2 gt350 rumor would be the way to go. Essentially a better boss type.
This new model is exciting and I really like that the front wheels look moved up more. This baby in black... yowza!

There is not much room in the current engine bay for the 5.8 liter engine. Ford would have to come up with some kind of revolutionary front suspension to allow the 5.8 liter engine to fit in the 2015 Mustang.

If the actual production model looks like this latest rendering ? I'll be holding onto my current 06 GT.. Maybe it's just my perception, but this render appears more like an evolution of the current S-197 than a completely all new design

I'm good with that. In the past, Aston borrowed some styling from the Mustang. I guess there's no reason ideas can't flow the other way.
After all, the Mustang's namesake, the P-51 Mustang, would have been nothing if not for the British taking out the American Allison engine and replacing it with the iconic Rolls-Royce Merlin engine that made the Spitfire so great. And the rest, as they say, is history.
BTW, the Americans took the Rolls-Royce Merlin and improved upon it, creating the Packard-Merlin engine, which powered the famous P-51D model.
