That 360 degree view is hot! I would buy that in a heartbeat. Not sure I believe C&D's claim of 500 hp for the GT and flat plain V8 for the SVT's but that would be awesome if true.

I agree I do hope that they carry over the 5.8 gt500 in 2015. I hope they don't just offer 2 models like 2005. From what the article described it seems like the same plan as 2010

Car and driver article says the 5.8 might carry over but not for long. I'd rather see it go away in favor of a more modern lighter smaller more fuel efficient turbocharged V8 like zee Germans are doing . It could easily make as much power as the current one

Interesting. Looks kinda like a streamlined version of what we have now. I'm liking the rear though I was hoping the car would have a true fastback profile.

Agreed, this flies in the face of previous information not to mention that the 5.8 trinity as a crate engine is absent from the current FRPP catalog.

Don't believe car and drivers hype

I saw an article the other starting that car and driver put out there stating that the next 5.0 will 500hp. I am mad at this there just staring a hype train and when the actual hp numbers come in the range of 460hp it cause some disappointment with fans. Your thoughts

Who's to say theyre not right? I mean im pretty sure its gonna be be (gt) 450-460 (slightly amped up gt) 500. The motor will be capable of the power but it wont be a baseline number

Looks like another render based off a mix of rumors and those renders designed off the cad drawings

I like it a lot. Now I want to see the rear.

The most powerful mass production V8 that avoids the gas guzzler tax isn't good enough? I wish Ford would work with large displacement engines more often, it is a shame such a great engine has such a short life (2003-04 Terminator all over again) . Chevy has proven time and time again that you can make a large displacement engine efficient.

The MOD based architecture just doesn't lend itself to big increases in displacement. If the bore spacing was better allowing for bigger bores we would see bigger displacements without having to go with extreme (by production car standards) strokes and the resulting under square engines like the 5.4 and 5.8

Maybe in a next generation engine with new tooling Ford might engineer in much better bore spacing or maybe not if the feds really put the clamps down on emissions? Bigger bores are inherently dirtier due to increased dead areas were unburnt fuel can hide, although this can be mitigated with DI somewhat.

I'm not sure how Ford is getting the extra displacement out of the rumored next SVT mill, a taller deck would put it right back where the current 5.8 mill is in width. However the benefit obviously is a coyote based engines more advanced features, especially if they were to turbocharge it.

Even with two turbos the size of your thumbs, a turbo mill needs to start with a high compression engine so that throttle response is adequate. DI allows this as a supercharged engine will always trump a turbo in this situation especially when your talking equal compression.

That C/D article is full of BS.

I'd believe them like I'd believe there's whale hunting going on in central Texas.

I just wish Ford would come out and show the real thing. These 95% correct renders and rampant speculation on engine outputs and weight are driving me crazy. I'd even settle if Ford came out with a reveal date like Chevy did last year for the Corvette on 1.13.13

Hey Ford, how about 11.12.13? I'd hate to wait for 1.4.14. I know we are going to get to see something in December but that seems an eternity at this point. I know, I know, patience is a virtue.
