I think it was mostly the angles on the other one, looking hard at TNs overlay it looked like the fender area especially in the rear was much closer to the top and sides of the tire. maybe by 1/2 inch or more. I wasn't expecting a slammed look, it is an OEM production car, i will be happy with it being set up on par with the best looking similarly sized coupes (IMO audi S5, and BMW 335 soon to be 435)
Obviously we wont know exactly till the no cladding mules come out. we should be able to get a pretty good idea when the swirly mules hit the roads.

I'm really hoping it turns out looking something like this render we've seen based off the Evo.
That is by far my favorite prototype. Fingers X

The last thing Ford should do is return the next Mustang as a hatchback, as we had 18 total years of hatchback models starting from the Mustang II era (74-78) and then the Fox platform from (79-93)
The Mustang is a Pony Car, not a utility vehicle.. If you want something considered as a having utility ? That's what SUV's and Eco Boxes are for !

I'm assuming its been corrected with the 2012 Focus.

Its about time we have a full fastback like (67-70) As there hasn't been a true/full fastback since 1973 and it's way overdue..

A definition of a fastback by Road & Track addresses this distinction: "A closed body style, usually a coupe but sometimes a sedan, with a roof sloped gradually in an unbroken line from the windshield to the rear edge of the car. A fastback naturally lends itself to a hatchback configuration and many have it, but not all hatchbacks are fastbacks and vice versa."
I don't think you can say that a hatchback configuration is only for SUV's and Eco Boxes, unless you think a Corvette is one. I'd take that "eco box" anyday

I don't understand your logic. A fastback can also be a hatchback, which is what I want.
A well designed hatchback can be every bit as sleek, sporty, light, tight and strong as a trunked fastback. Indeed, a hatchback could have an identical profile and design with the only main difference being greatly increased utility with basically no downside.
I had a hatchback Probe GT for a number of years and while being even sleeker than the contemporary Stang, was incredibly versatile. The hatch was all positives with little to no negatives. It was amazing what that little car could swallow up. The Probe also got excellent crash ratings, BTW.
I've never quite understood this reflexive and, in my mind, unthinking aversion to hatchbacks, they seem like a win|win to me, especially for one-vehicle owners.
