His reply; "If they dont make the machines in France they arent as good as the tires made in France so I only buy Michelins made in France"

Being such specialized equipment, I'm sure there are only a few places where you can get it, I would have loved to have been able to tell the guy that Michelin gets there molds from "X" in country "X"and the vulcanizing equipement from "X" in country "X" and so on. I'm sure he would have told me I was full of crap.
Perception is 9/10ths and for good reason. Advanced technologies, for the most part, originate in Germany if not Europe as a whole. However, the high cost can be blamed on initial replacement and service of those advanced, one of a kind systems... That cost is figured into the MSRP of YOUR vehicle before it even breaks.

There comes a time when all German technologies trickle down to even an entry level Ford Focus... Most improvements being rumored for the 2015 Mustang is nothing that far advanced... At least not enough to increase the MSRP of a GT to M3 levels. It will cost more than a 2014 GT, but it won't be unreasonable.

Had a friend look at the video, and he said he could barely make out the faint sound of a BOV just before the tire screeching going into the turn...

I personally don't hear it. Just curious if anyone else hears it, or if the OP remembers hearing anything in person?

I thought it was the turbo encabulator. Time circuits don't engage until 88mph. I don't think they hit that around the turn.

No, i didnt hear any BOV, it was windy so if there was a sudden gust it could sound real high pitch real quick in the video

I just remember the thing being quiet as hell; tremendously quieter than the ZL1 and Carerra S they were testing too.

but the car must weigh a whole lot more with the battery pack to produce the 1.21 Gigawatts of power needed to engage the turbo encabulator

I don't know about some of the stuff I've read. It reminds me too much of that insurance commercial. "They can't put anything on the internet that's not true." "Where did you hear that?" "On the internet."

5 pages of absolutely zero info. This place never ceases to amuse me. There was once a point in time where SVT didn't use forced induction....

Yep and their V8's made the same power as the current V6. All manufacturers are going with forced induction easy way to make big power numbers and still get decent MPG's

I'm fully expecting a jacked up SVT Mustang with 12-14 inches of travel.
It worked for the F-150

Who said anything about big power numbers? I love how people assume that since the '13-'14 GT500 has 662 that the next gen model will surely have at least that if not more.

Not me. I'm assuming less power but better power management systems and handling making for supercar performance levels at a Muscle Car price. OK, hoping is a better word.

And where did I say anything about them trying to make more than the 662 in the current GT500? SVT has added boost to make big numbers just like other manufacturers. Easier to add a blower and add 200 hp and maintain decent mileage. A lot harder and more expensive to make those types of numbers with bigger cams, more rpms, more compression.

You said BIG power numbers. Don't assume the next SVT will have those kinds of numbers. Just because they used forced induction in the past doesn't mean they will in the future.

I can't see them going smaller cubes and higher rpm to stay above the GT. And I don't see the GT going under 400. I'd love to see them go for a high rev engine. But I know what I've had to put into the 5.0 in my 98 Cobra to get there. Just don't see SVT being able to get there and meet durability and warranty requirements. They already limit the Boss for that

Keep in mind how large the gap is between the current GT/BOSS and SVT vehicle.
That is a BIG canyon sized gap.
Even if the GT were to go up (I wouldn't expect it to skyrocket here)
and the SVT come down, the gap is still pretty large.
