If it's protected by a 10 amp or under fuse you can use an "Add-A-Circuit" fuse and just find a fuse in your fuse box that shows 12 volts when the ignition is On only, not in Start position or At All Times Hot. Don't hook it to an air bag circuit either.

Was looking into these a few weeks ago. I was thinking on getting one since I keep finding myself parking like 2 feet away from the curb because I haven't gotten a feel for the distance yet.
But I was wondering that since it's not tied into the car directly, will the unit go off if you encounter certain objects in the road? Like if you straddle a pothole or roadkill?

HI Guys, I have fitted The Brandmotion 5000-CA 5 curb alert, they supply clear instructions it is easy to fit and calibrate, for my keyed power source I added a circuit to one of the 10 amp fuses for the passenger side electric window.
