Angry My Mustang was keyed. No other reason, than those **** youth.

Last week I attended the Vans Warped Tour. I have been wanting to go for years, but have never had the time, money, or one close to where I was living at the time. But now that I have time to take off from work, money to go, and its pretty much right down the road from me, I decided to go this year because it was right down the road from where I live.

I'm now 31 years old, and I felt old standing in line. I know I'm not even that old, but these kids were young.

But I had an enjoyable time at the show. Saw 8 bands that I was wanting to see. And I stayed until the very end.

So was walking back to my car, and was going to do my walk around as I always do, when I park with everybody else. I usually park out in the boonies. The first thing I noticed was I had a line going across the front of the hood. First thought was that it was a spider web, a thick one though. I reached out to touch it, and my heart sank. Someone had scratched the entire width of the hood. I then follow the path to where I think it starts, and I go to the drivers side, and the Mother ****er keyed the entire length of the drivers side.

So it looks like like they started in the back, went all the way down the side, and then passed between me and the car in front of me, and keyed across the hood.

I have custom racing stripes on the car too. Which I had to get the whole hood repainted last year from some unknown flying object on the interstate.

I was, and still am pissed. I can guarantee that if I would have seen this bastard in the process of doing this, he'd be in the hospital, and I'd be in handcuffs. You just don't mess with other peoples vehicles. And I take pride in keeping my car clean and ding free.

I only hope karma bent his key as he was doing this, and couldn't get home last night.

Here's the flickr link to the photos of the damage. http://www.flickr.com/photos/woody24...th/7549312088/

I'm always leery of going to large events where they corral you into parking. I've gone several times out the Indy Motor Speedway for practice days, and have always been worried that some dunk guy would walk by the car with his chair, or cooler, and scratch it. But no one has ever touched it out there.

I've contacted the venue about this situation. They offered to have me back as their guest. I've declined the invite. So they came back that they would reimburse me for my tickets.

Gonna file an insurance claim? Repairs are probably gonna be more than your deductible. At least save you a few bucks. Usually parking at car events and races are pretty safe. Most people there will respect someone else's vehicle.

Damages was around $1500 for paint. About $170 to get the stripes back on the hood. But my deductible is $100. Better than paying out of pocket. But still something I shouldn't have had to do.

Now I just have to deal with getting everything arranged.

That really is a terrible thing. I would've been in the same boat as you. I've got an anger issue when it comes to my car. I get pissed if someone even tries to write on it w/window chalk. I can only imagine how pissed I'd be in your predicament. I also hope that bastard has karma bite him HARD in the ****

Sorry to hear about the vandalism to your car. Really sucks. Bbecause there are so many ******** like this out in the world is one of the reasons that I own multiple cars, some of them rather ordinary, because there are places I want to go from time to time that I just will not take the Mustang (or Mini or Miata). For something like this I probably would have taken my wife's Fusion.

lol And listen to her gripe for 20 years after you trade her car in about the ONE time you got her car damaged??? lol something like that I'd probably took Our old truck. My Mustang doesn't go to things like this for that very reason. Bad enough I used to have to park her in a Walmart Parking lot to work

Wow its just sad that people would do this.. Idk what even could go through there heads.. it must be jealousy. We all work hard to keep our cars awesome and no matter how hard we try there's always that one time some punk has to screw with it. Some kid thought it would be funny to write "I think I'm fast" on the back of my car at school with window Chalk. As soon as I saw that, I went straight to the principle and straight to the security cameras. His punishment was going to be washing my car or Saturday class, I said there ain't no way in he** he's touching my car. Just pure disrespect.

Hey man, so sorry to hear about this. You have a great looking car and I'm sure your heart just fell from your chest when seeing this.

On a positive note, good to know you still have the car and are still around. Hopefully you'll get things fixed and back to normal soon.

Yeah I got keyed when I was volunteering at a charity event. Go figure.
So now, if its a very big event or like an outdoor concert I take my winter Cruiser instead. Nobody bothers to eff with a dang Cruiser. lol

Hey Tom. Yeah, still got the car. Still love the sounds the exhaust make. Had a few people ask me what I've done to it. I didn't do the H Pipe though.

Was in a little fender bender a little less than two years ago. They hit the front left fender. I was mostly worried that it cracked the center fog lights, because you know, they're famous. But luckily, it was unharmed.

But yeah, I felt sick after I saw the the drivers side. At first I thought some jackass, was trying to squeeze in between the front of my car, and drug their chair or something across the hood. But as soon as I saw the drivers side, thats when I realized someone did this on purpose.

State Farm guy came out to inspect the car and give me his estimate. I should get the check this Friday, and it should be enough to cover the deductible if the estimate from the repair shop is correct.

That was one of the first thoughts I had. I pictured in my head what I would have done if I would have caught him. Eariler this year I had back surgery. Spinal fusion. So I can't run yet. But I'm sure with this, my adrenaline would have helped me.

But my thought was that I would tackle this kid from behind, because Im sure he'd be walking or running away from me. I'd slam his face into the gravel, and then pull out my keys to leave my own personal pin-striping on his arm and back.

So I think it was probably better for the both of us if I didn't see him do this.
