I am amazed at the number of people who seem to think this is the "final" rendering. I don't believe any of this crap. Ford has done too good a job of keeping this information under wraps. And, why would these people be the only ones to get their hands on the data...no, smacks of media hype to me.

As for the roof design. It actually is older then the Camaro. Anyone remember the GT40? But again, I think Ford is going to take the Mustang into the future, simply because they will be selling all over the world. The 50th will be exactly what the first Mustang was, a whole new concept.

Of course I could be completely wrong...

I am with you on this. lot of the renderings are Evo or remodels of S197 etc. I def not feeling the exhaust in the middle of the rear. I like my exhaust tips on the outer area's of the rear fascia.

Love some of the renderings for the Mustang but this prototype with production hood and nose shape shows that it's not gonna be that crazy sleek.

2015 Mustang Mule Caught With Production Nose & Hood

Shame too as it was looking like an American exotic in some of the CGIs

This shows nothing. There could be a sleek shape under there covered with bulky padding. Or am I missing how these camo coverings work?

I said this in the other thread. It shows the grille opening, that's about it.

You have no idea what padding or not is under that.

They even modeled the padding to give the impression of the Fusion front. But if you look at where the openings for the headlights would be. Doesn't even look like lights are there. And they went out of the way to make the cover extend way out. I think the front is going to still have the shark nose look, and is going to be really sleek based on how they are padding it

I really hope so! I'm warming up to both the caranddriver rendering and the carscoop rendering. I showed my unbiased girlfriend the carscoop image and she really liked it. She called it "futuristic" looking. But she also agreed that the front end at least on that rendering needs to be a bit more aggressive and that the shark is definitely a must on the new car.

No, it's ugly! It looks like an Aston Martin... and a Fusion... and an EVOS...

Exactly...the one odd thing for me, is that I almost SORT OF see grill indentations through the false Fusion grill cutouts that look like the angrier shape of the Focus ST/Fiesta ST's front end. I'm not a fan of that look and doubt that Ford will go that route with the Mustang, but that's definitely what I keep seeing the most through all of that padding. Just follow the outline of where the padding starts to sag inward towards the center of the Fusion grill shaped stitching and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about...you can't miss the resemblance once you figure out where it's being hidden:

Looks like the camaro and mustang had a one night stand! I am not a fan of the side profile but when I cover the back half of the car with my hand the front half looks great. Definitely looks like a euro stang up front.

Cool

I like the CarScoop image. The front end looks particularily good. The image just needs to have some more details added to it. The tires just need to be moved out 3 or 4 inches and the fender flares need to be enhanced a little more. The use of the current Mustang tailights would be awsome.

I hope they don't pick the 50th anniversary of the world's most successful car to make something that blends in with the family line-up. Are we looking for the continuation of an icon, or the equivalent of the Camry Solara??? Gawddd

Cool

I agree. I hope the Mustang looks totally different from all the rest of the Ford cars. I did not like the truncated rear end in the Carscoop rendering. Otherwise, I liked their rendering.

What happened to the rumor about the next Mustang retaining round headlights? The carscoop rendering is OK but I am not a fan of the Camaro rear window treatment. I also have to question the high belt line which would seem to promote the same claustrophobic driving experience of the Camaro. I thought Ford had finally shed it's old "follow GM" mentality?
