Carscoop renderings

Carscoop has some new renderings they are claiming are really close to the real thing. I hope to god not. This car is super boring. I personally think these renderings have very little character. The front end of the car looks very cookie cutter. I wouldn't buy this car on initial launch. I'd only buy the car if the aftermarket could fix that front end.

:rofl3: looks like a 94-98 with a lame nose.

Play with the proportions a little, and I think there's a lot there to like. It does need more work though.

stangfoeva 10/25/12 12:15 AM

looks like a brick lol

Kabooka 10/25/12 06:06 AM

Too much camaro in the rear view.

Overboost 10/25/12 06:40 AM

Interesting...

Fusion coupe front, re-imagined 05-09 rear? Not a fan.

c_in_oz 10/25/12 06:44 AM

yep, that's as close as you'll get a render to the S550 guys.

RedCandy5.0 10/25/12 06:51 AM

The '13 will be my last Mustang if this is the case.

2k7gtcs 10/25/12 06:58 AM

WTF is up with the Camaro roof!

Boomer 10/25/12 06:59 AM

Interesting because its the one thats got the most slabsides and hard lines,
to other extremes that are too curvy.
Looks like they spent most of the time on the front...rear looks like a 'quick deadline, finish it up'

Goldilocks still hasn't found her 'just right'

Agreed. The rear looks rushed and not as thought out as the front or sides. I like the hips on the rear, but I see a lot of Camaro in them, as well as the bubble roof.

Speeding Bullitt 10/25/12 08:23 AM

If I wanted to buy a Camaro, I would just buy a Chevy one. If Ford decides on anything like this design, my next car will be the new Cuda.

Patio218 10/25/12 10:38 AM

:dunno: So I guess they just completely disregarded the reported louvered tail lights, which might I add were called the coolest part of the whole package by the source. I'm not buying this rendering.

2012BLKV6 10/25/12 10:46 AM

its got the shape of a hardtop convertible.

:bad:

Ethanjbeau 10/25/12 11:04 AM

I really like the front. Reminds me of Mercedes

The back is terrible though

Kabooka 10/25/12 01:38 PM

Well it is just a rendering, we'll know Tuesday :)

Why Tuesday?

Twin Turbo 10/25/12 01:59 PM

No way Ford would give us a concept at SEMA!

BlueDiamond 10/25/12 02:28 PM

Interesting. About what I was expecting to see as far as dimensions, green house and overall lines etc.
I hope the final product has some of a AM Vantage influence rather than all Fusion.
Theres no way IMO that those rear lights remain that 60.s retro however.
I would expect the taillights to be much larger and more edgy.
Also lower with more agressive splitters/diffusers etc.
Dont think the retro guys are gonna like the rear deck that short...but
it could work if it were slightly more fastback-ish.
Just my .02

Speeding Bullitt 10/25/12 03:02 PM

We retro guys would also like to see round headlamps - afterall, this is an "American" icon.:salute:
