2015 v6
I'm hoping switching the exhaust to roush will hide the clicking. Now let's hope after market parts are ready at launch. It would be nice to have the dealer add it before delivery but I doubt I'm going to be that lucky.
I appreciate everybody's opinions. I have been saving for three years to buy my new car in cash. I was interested in the Eco boost as this will be a daily driver but have heard the Eco boost engines make a nasty clicking noise. Not something I want to hear from a mustang engine. I know I will probably switch the exhaust to roush once available but was not sure if I should stay with the proven and tested v6 or give ford a chance on their new engine. I guess I will just have to wait until release as ford is not playing nice with us and giving us the info we need.
Some early vids to indicate a nice (for a four) exhausts note -- probably should wait for some real ear time before passing final judgement on that aspect -- some I4s can sound good, queue one Fiat 500 Abarth.

Many people seem focused on the HP being the same or very close between the ecoboost and the V6. What those people are missing is the ecoboost will have much more torque than the V6 and will have it far sooner in the rev band. The 2.3 ecoboost is in the new MkC and is officially rated at 285 hp and 305 ft-lb of torque. Ford has already announced that the ecoboost in the Mustang will have at least 305 hp, so we know it will be tuned differently than the MkC, but I think they are smart enough to not sacrifice torque to get that HP number.

You have to wait and see what will be offered. Muffler and exhaust companies will have 'sound clips' or 'videos' of their product soon after the 2015 Mustang is sold.
The stock gears on the V6 are 3.15, but there is no performance pack for the V6. You can get 3.55 gears as a stand alone option though.
