2015 Mustang prototype gets production nose/hood

Do we have to keep going over this again and again? There is absolutely no such thing as a 1964 1/2 model year Mustang. They were all marketed, advertised and VIN numbered as 1965 models. Now people choose to distinguish early production 1965 models by referring to them as "1964 1/2 Mustangs" because they were built early in the 1964 calendar year with certain production specifications before a few changes and upgrades were made for the remainder of the 1965 model year. You can't go back and change factual history. Mustangs may have a 1964 production date but it will never be the model year.
Now the Mustang 50th Anniversary date is April 17, 2014. Ford should have the 2015 model year Mustang in production by then if they are going to celebrate it to accurately repeat history. It should in no way be referred to being a 2014 1/2 model year Mustang. You cannot put that on a VIN number anyway. It has got to be either a 2014 or a 2015 model year Mustang.
Also past anniversary models were always celebrated with whatever Mustang would be in production on April 17th of the anniversary year. All the previous anniversary models fell during the calendar years ending in 4 or 9 because they are multiples of 5 from the original 1964 production date. They do not count the anniversary from the model year. Most previous generation Mustangs stayed close to the traditional fall new model year introduction runs which would end in late summer of the following year. That is why Anniversary models were celebrated with whatever Mustang was in production on April 17th of the calendar year.
If Ford does not pull ahead the 2015 Mustang so it is introduced on April 17, 2014 then the anniversary model will indeed be a 2014 model.

Not disputing the uniqueness of the first production run and distinguishing them in conversation as "64 1/2's" because of when they were built. However the model year will always be 1965 by VIN and Ford sold them as such in it's original advertising.

I doubt they'll start rolling teasers before next summer. Leaks might happen, and there's a chance we'll see a concept this upcoming show season, but they're not going to post super-high resolution ultra-close-ups of turn signals for months yet.
