Interesting comments. Is he to be believed? Would parts suppliers be privvy to seeing a concept? Surely they'd be limited to the specific parts they'll be supplying?
That being said, the "style" he describes doesn't surprise me.......although a modern-ish Stang still worries me.

I think the 2015 will be a little wider, a lower roofline, sleeker windshield profile, and have more graceful lines. If you're going to make it look sleeker, those areas seem to have some room to them to go. Then again, depending on where the new platform comes from, we don't really know what changes can be made without major changes.

the things that guy said don't sound too off base and they jive w/ what we've heard in the past. Remember Ford had Audi S5's in the studio for the '10 refresh to try to match the fit & finish

I dont understand how anyone could wait for an unkown 2015 model Mustang. The 2013 GT, Boss 302, and 2013 GT500 are such great cars that it appears to risky to wait for a Mustang no one knows anything about. If a person does not buy a 2013 Mustang, he or she could be dissapointed. What more could a person want that the 2013 Mustangs dont have ?

At the 2011 Mustang event Alan Mulally did say that he wants the Mustang to achieve "Audi level of refinement" so yes, I do believe what the guy is saying and it also goes inline with what i've been thinking where they would take the car. Its gonna be very interesting to see how the next-gen stang comes out!

Interesting the cars he mentions though.........I was lucky enough to attend a customer feedback session in the UK about 18months ago. In the studio was a 2010 V6 (there were no 2011 3.7 V6s in the UK at the time), an Audi S5 and a Nissan 350z.
General feeback was we liked the Zed's RWD chassis and "focus" as a driver's car, although the styling was generally unliked as being too OTT.
The Audi was admired for it's classy look and great (perceived) build quality.
The Mustang was still "our" kind of car though. In your face with a little rebel attitude, whilst still honouring the great Mustangs that had gone before.
I'm still blown away by Sean Smith's rendering of his version of the '15 though. Imagine this as a GT, 440bhp Coyote, IRS (no point getting into the pros and cons in this thread....we know it's coming) and Audi levels of fit n finish inside and out. A refined pony/muscle car that's still instantly recognisable as a Mustang

Fronts too short, too little room between the front wheel well and the door opening. The engine ends up too far forward and you get poor weight distribution. I hope they can get the engine farther back than it is now especially if they don't put in a trans axle. Now with a trans axle that wouldn't be too bad. But that cab forward look is so 90s Chrysler.

Take it for what it's worth, guys, but a gentleman over on another forum claims to have seen the 2015 Mustang because he works for a parts manufacturer that supplies components for the current Mustang as well as the next-generation car. He's described the car as part "new edge" SN-95, part Aston Martin DBS and part Nissan 370Z. He also claims the 2015 Mustang will go "up market" to compete with the likes of Audi, BMW, etc.

Provided thats true, this is reminiscent of what Japan tried to do with thier affordable sports cars (300ZX, Supra, RX-7) the very last cars were stellar but a confluence of bad economy and going upscale sealed their fate.

I love every generation the Mustang has gone through. I hope Ford will offer a Eco Boost V-6 for the Mustang someday..........

Im thinkin Audi refinement, Aston influenced design, Japanese (yea i said it) sophistication. It is on a global playform so theyre gonna have to satisfy everyone with this one. Im honstly really looking forward to the next model year. And if what MMVEC is sayin is true, then theyre bringing back one of my favorite body styles!! SN-95!!!!!
