With all the rumors about whats coming, and you think they'll make the opening smaller?

Sounds like a GREAT plan
While they are at it, might as well put 225s on it

It looks like it has the 2012 GT500 performance pack wheels on it.

It does. I don't know if I am convinced this is anything but a 2013 GT500 mule. The only variation are the fogs without actual lights. In 67 and 68 the GT500's did have fogs and by the picture they aren't taking up any more room than is currently blocked off on the 2010-2012's. Maybe it is a 5.0 mule. The front end of the 07-09 GT500 did carry over to the 2010 GT and V-6 in a way.

Just read this thread for the first time. Strangely enough I was with a good friend of mine from Ford yesterday and I was talking to him about Mustangs and how I was considering trading up to a Shelby etc etc. I happened to notice a picture of this car in mule get up, and of course questioned him about it.

He couldn't give me too many details but he did say there were changes coming for the 2013, basically a possible small power increase being one (now whether it's an actual increase or Ford publishing what the 5.0 actually produces) to compete in the Camaro war is to be seen.

The other 2 changes he did mention were - yes that is a 5.0. from 2013 the 5.0 GT ONLY will have a Shelby looking front without the top hood cut outs. Also the rear tail lights after many comments and feed back will be flush with the rear panels not raised as on the 11 & 12.

I asked about what gearbox was going in it and I was met with the sound of crickets (I have complained to him more than once about mine).

It's not a GT500.

My nomination for best use of sarcasm in this thread.

by sound of crickets do you mean he wouldnt talk about a problem and possible solution or that ford doesnt think there is a design problem and are using the same tranny

BTW great info

GT Only gets the Shelbyish front. So Boss 302 nose stays the same. Kinda makes you wonder if they are weaning us away from Shelby after 2014

What's the Boss getting then? Seems like a lot of extra tooling for a low volume vehicle.

The Boss is essentially a suped up GT so I can't imagine the front end would be any different.

If the Boss is only slated for 2013 it would cost more to retool it for one year as opposed to pumping out a 2000+ current frontends before the switchover and having to redesign a splitter for both Bosses.

I really don't know, I pushed a couple of times only to be met with neither a denile or admission of MT problems, just side stepping.

Flush? Diaper? Ford can't win.......their rear ends all always toilet related

I 'spose keeping the current Boss front end would help differentiate the V6 from GT from Boss......although what (if anything) the GT500 has in store is a mystery (or not, if the N/Ring mules are anything to go by!)

The old Southfield Freeway spy shot. LOL....I miss that part of living in Detroit sometimes. I never get to see anything cool down here in Atlanta.
