Good luck and hope it works out!
However, for those who have 2005-09 models, in my honest opinion, this product and procedure appear to be the best permanent fix for the door panel insert issues...

Living in Florida, I tried every glue in the book and the dealer was clueless on how to make the vinyl inserts stay on the door panels. I found a mechanically superior means to cure the problem. It involved stripping the panels of the factory vinyl, cutting a piece of Masonite to the shape of the insert, drilling the door panel and Masonite with matching pairs of holes around the perimeter of the Masonite. I threaded 22-gauge wire (common bell wire in one hole and out the other of the Masonite at each pair, I then glued polyester padding over the face of the Masonite and covered that with new vinyl that was large enough to wrap around the back of the Masonite well past the holes and between the wires. Prior to adding the vinyl, I decided to dress up the new vinyl with an embroidered Mustang. The final step was to thread each pair of wires through their corresponding holes in the front of the door panel and once all wire ends were accounted for, each pair was twisted together to secure the upholstered panel onto the door panel. I performed this fix/upgrade about 6 years ago and it's never failed since.

Would you mind posting some images, as I'm sure those of us looking for a permanent solution to cure the dreaded vinyl door panel inserts would be very interested in seeing some images of each step you took during your upgrade fixes...
