Passenger door problem on 2013
I know this question was asked some time back, but my search has not been forthcoming for the previous thread. So here it is again. At times when I unlock the the passenger door I have to pull the handle twice to open the door. Does anyone remember or know what this problem is, and the possible fix. It's one of those things you want to know as much about before the car is taken to the service dept., because as always it won't happen when the Service folks try to replicate the problem. Thanks in advance.
Jim
I have tried the miracle fix, WD40. Didn't help.

I had this problem on my 2012 GT -- I bought it in NOV 2011. It turned out that one of the bolts inside the door that attached to the passenger door handle had been over-torqued and stripped during assembly. The door handle looked normal, but sometimes would not seat flat after use. And it required an extra pull or two to open.
I had the handle replaced at the dealer for free. They did have to paint it to match my car, but I have had no problems since.
Not sure if this is your problem, but it sounds similar.
It was a time-consuming repair for the dealer; they basically had to disassemble the door from the inside out.

Sorry it took so long to get back to this, but the dealer replaced the door handle mechanism. No painting required as all the stuff replaced was on the inside. All is well now.
That's good to hear. On a separate note, my key fob doesn't seem to be working right. I'll press the unlock button and it seems to take a few times for it to unlock.

Thats a new one BIB. Could it be the battery in the FOB is weak? I had this type of problem with another vehicle I own.

weird, I had the same issue with one of mine...it would often require me to click it many times before it registered (just for the driver door). It would be up to 10 or so tries as I approached the car and even when I was standing right next to it. The other fob worked fine. Haven't looked into it though
